PITTSBURGH, PA, January 18, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A new guitar show will debut in the Pittsburgh market April 14, 2013. The Sonic Valley Guitar Show will feature vintage guitars, amplifiers and other used gear. The new Pittsburgh guitar show will be held at the Ramada Inn Conference Center in Greensburg, PA on April 14, 2013 from 10am to 5pm.

Dealers nationwide will be selling and buying rare vintage guitars and vintage amplifiers along with affordable used gear in over 10,000 square feet of exhibit space. The guitar show is a response to the growing interest in vintage instruments and gear among collectors and investors as well as musicians and the general public.

Tony Melanson, the spokesperson for the event, comments "Vintage guitar gear is at the heart of rock and roll. There is an allure to vintage guitars and tube amps that simply isn't there with new instruments and it's also true that they don't make them like they used to. Young people are discovering the difference in quality and baby boomers who grew up with these instruments are reclaiming them. In these days of shrinking 401k accounts, vintage guitars are investments you can truly handle. I have never met anyone who was inspired by a stock certificate or able to crank up a mutual fund.

The location is ideal and we are inviting dealers with cool instruments from around the nation as well as attendees from around the region who want to buy, sell or trade. We also invite the public to bring in that guitar that's been hiding under the bed or in a closet. They might be surprised what it's worth. Any guitar player, collector or musician will tell you, there's nothing like getting your hands on that piece of gear you have been searching for at a fair price".

Vintage guitars or amps often increase in value because of the rarity, quality or pedigree of the instrument and were recently discussed in a Wall St. Journal article as an investment vehicle. Prices for vintage instruments such as Gibson, Fender and Martin over the last five years have been falling, but the market shows signs of improving and it is an excellent time to be a buyer. Admission to the show is only $8. Parking is free. You can learn more about the show and dealers can purchase booth space at http://www.sonicvalleyguitar.com.
