Ms. Walton established Mykayla Ink in honor of her daughter, Kayla, who passed away when she was 14 years old after a lifetime with idiopathic epilepsy and autism. While grieving her death, Ms. Walton found the most difficult challenge was trying to maintain financial stability with limited paid time off and not qualifying for the Family and Medical Leave Act while raising a special needs child.
Additionally, Ms. Walton had worked with The Miracle League since 2022 after establishing her organization. Among her professional accomplishments, she was honored with a Best of 2022 East Point Award and had Mykayla Ink featured on CNN's News Break.
Looking to the future, Ms. Walton intends to establish a brick-and-mortar location for her organization as well as to expand into other states. Passionate about helping children with special needs and their families, she is committed to providing emergency services for them and guiding them through their healing process.
