Cornwall Cutie Winner of National Modelling Competition

Truro beauty Charlotte Thomson has been declared winner of this year's infamous High Street Honey competition.

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND, May 15, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The modelling competition for gorgeous girls-next-door, now in its eighth year, is run by popular men's magazine FHM and attracted almost 14,000 entries this year from women across the UK. Out of these hopefuls, 100 honeys were whittled down to a final ten who faced the gauntlet of a public vote.

Charlotte, 21, has hit the nightspots of the region charming clubbers and canvassing for votes, and has attracted online interest with her campaigns on social networking site Facebook. Her posters have graced many a shop window over the last month, but the stunning student hasn't always been so confident.

Charlotte explains: "All through my teenage years I was so shy. I had no confidence and I knew it was all because of my body. I'm a size eight, but I'm quite curvy and my hips weren't in proportion to the rest of my body. I just felt so flat-chested, I always used to buy padded bras, and it was really getting me down. So when I was 18 I'd decided I'd had enough, and booked in for a breast enlargement with The Hospital Group. "I know people will probably think I was fine as I was, and I shouldn't have to go to such lengths. I did a lot of research, and at the clinic they were very supportive and made sure I knew my options. But I'd say if someone is unhappy with their appearance and it's getting them down then they should go for it. It was a no brainer for me. My family were concerned about the problems that might occur, but after I'd had the procedure everyone was pleasantly surprised at how natural they looked.

"Now I'm so much happier. I love being curvy and I've got a lot more confidence in myself. Deep down I'm just a normal Cornish girl, except I'm really lucky because I don't have to exercise and can eat whatever I want!"

The photographer's assistant has gone from shy to sassy since her enlargement in 2006, and even represented Cornwall in Miss Great Britain 2007 - coming in 9th of 4000 girls.
And now she's bringing glory to the region in the High Street Honeys competition.

Charlotte says: "I just can't believe I've won! I'd entered the competition before but never got anywhere. So this year, even getting in the top 100 was amazing, never mind winning! I still can't take it in. The whole competition has been an incredible experience. I never expected to get in the Top 10, let alone winning. It's surreal."

As part of her prize, Charlotte will secure a year-long television presenting contract on a satellite channel, as well as scooping a GBP10,000 prize bounty and a FHM cover shoot.
