MPP Payments Platform Selected by PlayJam

PlayJam has selected MPP to provide payments technology to support the evolution of its consumer offering and introduction of a range of new business models to enhance the value of the brand it has built since launching in 2000.

WARRINGTON, ENGLAND, July 04, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- PlayJam, the world's leading interactive TV games company, has selected MPP to provide payments technology to support the evolution of its consumer offering and introduction of a range of new business models. Operating on a range of platforms globally, including broadcast and connected TV, mobile and web, PlayJam will also unify its users and their activity to further enhance the value of the brand it has built since launching in 2000.

The primary reason MPP was selected, according to Wayne Thornhill, PlayJam's Chief Operating Officer, was due to the added-value MPP adds to its core payments technology. "We required a payments platform which not only processed credit and debit cards, but also provided a unified account solution, including a micropayments engine and had the ability to offer loyalty points to our customers. With MPP we got all three out-of-the-box."

PlayJam will soon re-launch its online proposition to deliver a more community driven games proposition, fully integrated with the global TV experience. As part of the re-launch, a product roadmap of further enhancements to drive maximum commercial value from the established PlayJam reach is now underway. A series of both casual, skill and tournament based games are soon to be launched and MPP will provide the ability for users to pay to play, either online or via any of the platforms they use to engage with PlayJam. A user eWallet will be set-up which is then used to pay for access on a pay-to-play or subscription basis. Winning users can swap the points they earn for prizes or cash, which MPP manages on PlayJam's behalf.

iPay Developer, the name given to the payments platform which is being deployed, is an eCommerce payment gateway which enables PlayJam to implement a range of payment and subscription tools. The service is equipped with MPP's leading eWallet technology to enable consumers to make easy repeat purchases at the click, or the press, of a button. An Account Manager is also provided by MPP, which enables PlayJam's customers to manage their payment card, view transaction history, self-manage subscriptions, buy service credits and request cash withdrawals.

Other features include a fully equipped support console which enables customer service representatives to easily manage customer enquiries and advanced Management Console where administrators can retrieve instant snapshots of account statistics, account history, number of subscribers, as well providing the ability to download reports in user-friendly formats for data mining and analysis.

"Naturally, we are delighted to be working so closely with PlayJam. To support them as they monetise and bring together the 45 million TV homes they reach around the world is a challenge we are looking forward to", commented Paul Johnson, CEO at MPP.
