EasyCare CEO Larry Dorfman Meets With Office of New York Senator Charles Schumer

EasyCare CEO Larry Dorfman takes a stand with US Senator against car warranty fraud and deception

ATLANTA, GA, July 16, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- EasyCare, the vehicle warranty and vehicle service contract company that provides administration, marketing, claims and distribution services for many Manufacturers' Warranty and Service Contract programs, announces that CEO Larry Dorfman will personally meet with officials from the Washington, DC office of Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY). During the meeting, scheduled to take place on July 15, 2009, the two consumer advocates will discuss ways to improve honest practices in the vehicle warranty and service contract industry, especially fraudulent marketing and "robo call" practices that have become prevalent on a national basis.

Mr. Dorfman's 25 years of creating high value and quality to consumers via EasyCare give him a unique perspective to share valuable information about eliminating fraudulent car warranty practices.

"EasyCare is committed to providing warranties and contracts that do what they are supposed to, are marketed in an appropriate, legal and above board manner, and create a terrific consumer experience. We believe that the buying public deserves a car ownership and warranty experience that is fair, friendly, and fast," says CEO Larry Dorfman. "Senator Schumer's office clearly stands for fair treatment and customer rights. I'm looking forward to the outcome of this conversation and would like to be a part of the team that works with Senator Schumer to eliminate false advertising, illegal robo calling and those firms that take advantage of consumers by offering fraudulent warranties and contracts. We thank the Senator's office for its recent actions which brought these activities to the public eye and for making time for this important issue."

EasyCare became interested in helping Senator Schumer with his fight against predatory consumer practices in the car warranty business after Sen. Schumer's recent appearance on the Fox and Friends Morning Show. During the show, Sen. Schumer condemned the predatory practices of some car warranty companies, especially those utilizing "robocalling" techniques and confusing advertising language. Larry Dorfman saw the segment, and recognized an opportunity to share his 25 years of experience as a national provider of and consultant for industry-leading car warranty and vehicle service contracts in support of Sen. Schumer's cause.
