International Academy of Film and Television Launches Edu-Tourism Program with Hollywood Film Adventure Camp

Two-Week Camp Combines Film Education and Vacation Destination

CEBU, PHILIPPINES, August 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The International Academy of Film and Television launches Hollywood Film Adventure Camp this month as part of the school's Edu-Tourism Series under its expanding Study Abroad Program. Designed to integrate introductory filmmaking and performing arts courses to international students with the fun and excitement of travel and Asian culture, Hollywood Film Adventure Camp is IAFT's first program that combines learning marketable skills for the entertainment industry with vacation. A wholly-owned subsidiary of film production company Bigfoot Entertainment, IAFT is based in Cebu, Philippines and attracts talented students from all over the world who strive to develop skills necessary to gain a competitive edge in today's international film community.

Scheduled for July 25th through August 7th, the first Hollywood Adventure Camp is hosting ten students from the London School of Public Relations (LSPR) in Jakarta, Indonesia. Producing highly qualified and skilled graduates in communications studies, LSPR prepares students to be competitive in international business communications.

The July / August 2009 session of IAFT's Hollywood Adventure Camp covers introduction to Screenwriting, Producing, Directing, Acting and Editing. During the program, students visit local TV and newspaper outlets, participate in a tri-city tour of Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue and Cebu City and stay overnight at the Bohol Beach Club. At the end of the camp, each student produces a personal travel video and a five-minute narrative film.

"IAFT is a unique learning environment because we offer programs taught by top entertainment industry professionals, as well as a beautiful, exotic location that inspires creativity and exploration," said Keith Sensing, Executive Director, International Academy of Film and Television. "We have recently witnessed a growth in 'edu-tourism' worldwide - combined with a developing global interest in examining new cultures and locations in film and entertainment, and recognize that IAFT provides an ideal setting to offer both learning and travel."

"IAFT is truly an enjoyable experience. Learning from the experts from Hollywood gives our students more in-depth knowledge of producing for film and television," said Candy Tolosa, Head of Media Center at LSPR. "In addition to getting a practical, hands-on learning experience, students from LSPR have the opportunity to utilize Bigfoot Studios' state-of-the-art facilities."
IAFT's Edu-Tourism Series targets high school, gap year and college students from all over the world, and will continue roll-out of additional programs over the coming months.
