Back to School - Reading, Writing and Hypnosis?

Hypnosis instructor and school owner, Celeste Hackett , explains how hypnosis goes hand and hand with back to school from both the parents and the teacher's perspective.

PLANO, TX, August 29, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- All across Texas this past week, yellow became the favorite color of parents and caregivers of school aged kids due, of course, to the release that all parents feel each fall as they place their children on those big school busses and cede temporary care and custody of their kids to the authority of school districts and the responsibility of individual teachers.

Conversely however, those individual teachers feel their responsibilities and worries multiply with each addition to their classroom. Especially in light of bad news recently released by the College Board on concerning SAT scores. In fact, the news came the day after most Texas students returned to class.

It was revealed that Texas' student scores slipped two points in reading to 486 and five points in writing to 475, but gained a point in math to 506. The national averages dipped a point in reading and math to 501 and 493 respectively, while remaining unchanged in math at 515. The SAT's, the most widely used college entrance exam in the country and individual sections, have a maximum score of 800 each.

With Test Score results such as that it's no wonder that some Texas educators and parents may be thinking outside of the box in order to raise test scores and motivate students to do better. It's a trend that Celeste Hackett, a Certified Hypnotist, business entrepreneur and owner of a new State Licensed career school for hypnotists in Texas, has experienced in a couple of different ways: First, parents wanting their children to undergo the Hypnotic process to make them better students and second, Educators looking to acquire skills from the Hypnotic profession to motivate and inspire better performance from those students.

"Just after school starts is traditionally a very busy time for Professional Hypnotists," says Celeste. "It's when parents call looking for help on how to unlock the potential of their kids in everything from test scores and athletic performance to even using the power of the subconscious to eliminate unwanted fears and habits which may be distracting their children away from reaching their full potential". She goes on to say - "This year is somewhat different. Since being awarded a License from the Texas Workforce Commission to open and operate a certified Hypnosis Career School, I have had a number of Professional Educators ask about enrolling. They're excited about the possibilities which the modern techniques, tools, and methods of Hypnosis offer."

Ms. Hackett points out that the Educators she has spoken to have no intention of trying to induce a Hypnotic state with students. That would require parental and not to mention school district permission. The educators are however, "Excited about learning how the subconscious really works, it's vital and powerful connection to how we process and acquire information and how waking suggestions without inducing hypnosis may be used in the classroom," She says. As a matter of fact, the last class Dallas Hypnosis Career Training (www.DallasHypnosisCareerTraining.com) held, 20% of her students were indeed, professional educators.

While it may take quite a while to see if the modern applications of Hypnosis can become a useful tool for professional educators to use in their efforts to raise Texas SAT scores, Celeste Hackett has one more piece of anecdotal evidence that Hypnosis makes an impact with educators, "In my last class I had a school counselor. He started out looking for adjunct professional training, but, by the time the class ended he was so excited about the possibilities of Hypnosis as a profession, he was talking about opening his own private practice!"

Ms. Hackett is a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, the largest and oldest educational corporation for hypnotists founded in Boston , MA in 1951. Ms Hackett also is the owner of Family First Hypnosis in Plano where she sees up to 20 clients per week. Family First Hypnosis has been in operation since 2006 and sees a variety of issues such as Stop Smoking, Weight Loss, as well as many other behavioral problems. The hypnotist also receives referrals from doctors and psychologists for issues such as phobias, depression and chronic anxiety. She is board certified by the NGH and is also a Certified Professional Hypnosis Instructor.

"My students will learn to work with a variety of issues and do real hypnosis that really works," says Celeste. "Whether they come from Houston, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, or right hear in the Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex, they'll receive the best Hypnosis Training in Texas." Classes are scheduled through out the year with the next one in November 2009. Tuition is offered at an introductory price of $1995, but discounts are available for early registration.
