Trunk or Treat - Churches Find New Way To Connect With Their Community. Memory Cross Partners With Need Him This Halloween To Create A Fun Tract That Shares The Gospel With Trick-or-Treaters

Churches are reaching out to their community more than ever at Halloween with Trunk or Treat and Hallelujah parties. Part of the outreach involves presenting the Gospel in a fun and creative way. Memory Cross has designed a tract that kids love.

HIGH POINT, NC, September 24, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jesus' great commission to his followers is: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

One company is trying to do that this Halloween with a very unique card.

Halloween is normally a time when children get dressed up and get lots of candy. Memory Cross, a Christian-based company headed by Reverend Andy Lambert, is asking Christians to give their Trick-or-Treaters the Good News of the gospel as well.

Using a very clever folding card that he developed several years ago, Andy is suggesting Christians to not only hand out candy but to give kids this card, which shares the gospel message in a package that is nothing short of amazing.

The message on the card reads "Free Candy! That's what Halloween is all about! Just dress up in a costume, say, "Trick or Treat!" and get Free Candy! What could be better than that? God's Love! That's the sweetest Gift of all!

God Loves You. He sent his only son Jesus to earth to die for your sins. He rose from the dead so that you can have Eternal Life. That is the greatest and sweetest gift in the world and all you have to do is accept it. Invite Jesus into your life and ask Him to forgive your sins. Simply say this prayer and long after the candy is gone Jesus will still be by your side. Lord Jesus, I know I have done wrong and need your help to do right. I believe you died for my sins and that you are alive today. I want to be like you and I want you to be the Lord of my life. Please forgive me. I invite you to live in my heart. I will obey you and live for you the rest of my life."

If churches want to join in by inviting people to their church Memory Cross has created the card so that information about the church can be added to the back of the card with a label or stamp.

When asked about the idea for the Halloween card, Pastor Lambert responded, "Halloween is the only time of the year when neighborhood kids come knocking on our doors. As a Christian, I wanted to give them more than candy; I wanted to give them something that could change their lives forever." From this idea came the Halloween Memory Cross. What makes this tract different is its unique design. When you put this card into the hands of kids, they will be fascinated with it and read it over and over. Since parents inspect all candy, they also will be presented with the Gospel message.

The card is so unique that even people who do not believe agree this card is a great way to get the message out. One response that was received upon showing the card was this: "I received the cards and was like a kid at Christmas. I showed them to all I came in contact with and got the same reaction. I even took them to work and showed them to some nonbelievers. Their response was no different. One young lady said "What a great way to get the Word out. I was astounded as to her response since she was not a Christian."

Churches are also using this card for trunk-or-treat and Hallelujah parties to let children know that God's love is the greatest gift of all.

If someone wants to know more about being a Christian, there is information about the Need Him organization printed on the card. There is a tool free phone number and website where people can get information about a relationship with Jesus Christ.
