    LARCHMONT, NY, October 08, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Monday, October 12, at 6:00 pm, Clarke Auction, Westchester's Premier Auction Gallery, will open its autumn season with its deepest and best catalog of 2009, and of recent years. The sale was created from estates across Greater New York including Yonkers, Bronxville, the Hamptons, Greenwich, Bedford Village, Park Avenue, Riverdale, White Plains, and Larchmont itself.

Memorabilia consists of estate-fresh items from the 1930's such as a signed Babe Ruth baseball, vintage bats, glass plate negatives of Hornsby, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Dazzy Vance, Manush, and Hubbell, Old Boxing Matches, and plates of Charles Lindbergh and the Spirit of St Louis, all as found in a Greenwich basement. In addition, a Jersey estate provided original prints from Sports Illustrated - Baseball, World Series, Track and Field, Olympics - including an iconic image of Bill Maseroski's 1960 Series-ending HR against the Yankees.

Antique Furniture include a Georgian Triple Pedestal Dining Table, a 18th C. French Inlaid Commode, 18th C. Louis XV chairs, a 18th-19th C. Open Armchair, a 18th C. Oak Gateleg, 19th C. American chests and numerous other Continental and American pieces. This sale is particularly strong in antique furniture.

Midcentury Modern highlights are a Paul Evans Two-Door Cabinet, Eames Chair and Ottoman, a signed Karl Springer Brass and Glass endtable, a Brown Lacquer and Chrome Pierre Cardin Server, a Multi-toned Bone Coffee Table, possibly Springer; a Mont-style Floor Lamp, Ege Axminster and RYA Carpets, Janus Desk, Curtis Jere Lamp, Lucite pieces, and an Architect-designed Green Glass Cube and Glass Dining Table.

Decorative Arts and Tiffany include an exceptional 17th C. Dutch Polychromed Clock among ten antique clocks, a Vienna Bronze Orientalist Box, a Vienna Bronze Elephant, a rare c.1880 Ott & Brewer Belleek Gilt on Cream Vase, a Tiffany Studios Lamp base and other Vintage Leaded Glass Lamps, a Tiffany Favrile Bowl, an unusual Daum Nancy Bowl, Moorcroft, a collection of Irish Belleek, Royal Worcester, a Dresden Mirror and Base, and an older Gilt-bronze and Marble Inkstand with a Le Trianon stamp from Havana Cuba.

Traditional Furniture features ten pieces by Baker including Dining Room Suites, Side Tables and a Sofa, a Custom Silk Dapha sofa, a Dapha armchair, Kittinger including a Banded Twin Pedestal Dining Table, Henredon including a Banded Dining Table and Side Chairs, and Marble and Onyx-Topped Side Tables.

Asian Decorative Arts and Furniture include consignments from a Larchmont collection including three porcelain plaques; framed Silk Embroidery and fans, Ancestor Portraits, an Antique Red and Gold Lattice Gate, as well as a 1920's Korean Cabinet and an Altar Table.Other Asian pieces include a pair of Bronze-Mounted Celadon Lamps; three older Asian Vases as Lamps, a Chinese Chippendale-style Etagere, an antique Fishbowl from the Waldorf-Astoria, a Pair of Chinoiserie Decorated Cabinets on Stands, and a Gilt-Metal, possibly Bronze, Sculpture of a Bull and Rider.

Extensive Lighting features, in addition to the Tiffany, Leaded Glass, and Asian pieces; two Art Deco Chandeliers, a pair of Antique French Silverplate Lamps; Pairs of Sconces, and exceptional Antique French and Italian Chandeliers, Antique Twin-Arm Converted Oil Lamps, Pairs of Bohemian Glass Lamps, and Pairs of Marble Lamps.

Carpets to include Semi-Antique Orientals as well as the aforementioned Midcentury pieces.

Fine art features 19th C. Harpers Color Engravings of New York Scenes in fine burl frames including an early image of the yet-to-named Brooklyn Bridge ; a Louis Rochet Bronze of Napolean, a possibly 16th C. Carved Stone Figure, and other listed and decorative works.
