Wallace Wireless and Operation Respond Introduce, Operation Respond's OREIS Mobile: On-Scene Access to Critical Hazardous Materials Data, for First Responders during Transportation Incidents.

First-to-market wireless solution, to provide critical hazardous materials data and on-scene guidance to First Responders to transportation accidents and incidents, with secure, integrated access to lifesaving guidance - anytime, anywhere.

/24-7PressRelease/ - TORONTO, ON, CANADA, April 03, 2006 - Wallace Wireless and Operation Respond Institute (ORI) today took significant steps to enhance safe responses to transportation accidents and incidents involving hazardous cargoes. Wallace Wireless and ORI announced their agreement to offer critical elements of the Operation Respond Emergency Information System (OREIS ) to North America's First Responders.

This secure remote solution, available on select handheld devices and smart phones, delivers Operation Respond's critical emergency guidance and real-time hazmat information directly to First Responders - trained emergency personnel - who are the first to respond to highway, rail and other transportation accidents and incidents.

Under this new agreement, Wallace Wireless will offer OREIS Mobile as part of their Wireless Incident Communicator (WIC) product suite. Widely utilized in all levels of government and financial services, WIC provides emergency response teams with a total solution for mobile business continuity. This total solution provides first responders with reliable communication during a crisis, up to date information from the field and all critical documents, conveniently and instantly at their fingertips.

OREIS is a unique "one stop" resource proven to meet First Responder needs in handling transportation incidents involving hazmat spills, accidents involving chemical releases and other life-threatening problems by linking First Responders to vital life saving information. OREIS has distinct similarities to the Amber Alert System pioneered by Sprint Nextel. Both provide time sensitive, critical lifesaving information during the first few minutes of an incident. OREIS is now being used in over 56,000 agencies, and has established direct linkages with the state-supported National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS) and the Department of Justice-supported Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS). Together with Operation Respond's other OREIS installations, OREIS is estimated to reach over 2,000,000 emergency personnel protecting people throughout North America. The rail car ID function will continue to be made available to emergency responders authorized by Operation Respond.

"We are excited to extend the resources available to first responders in the Wallace Incident Communicator," said Rob Moffat, Wallace Wireless President. "Through our new partnership, first responders will save time and lives by having critical information at their fingertips. Since our inception, we have been committed to improving response time by providing accurate information quickly in any situation. This partnership brings us closer to dependable, accessible and accurate emergency response."

"The real message here is the commitment of the Operation Respond partner transportation companies, particularly those in the railroad industry, to provide live feeds of essential data to emergency responders in the communities they serve," said Dan Collins, Operation Respond President. "Our OREIS Mobile solutions increase responder safety and substantially reduce the time spent gathering critical information."

With offices in the US, Canada, UK and Australia, Wallace Wireless is the leading developer of mobile incident management and crisis communications software. The Wallace Incident Communicator (WIC) puts Incident Management, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans onto wireless handheld devices across the enterprise.
