Scientific Progress Mapped In Florence Exhibition

The Museum of History and Science is playing host to an extraordinary exhibition cataloguing Italy's contribution to science.

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, December 01, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- An exhibition on show at the Museum of History and Science in Florence offers visitors an insight into the role that Italy has played in global scientific development.

People staying in Florence hotels will be able to take in details about the development of many scientific fields, including biology, mathematics, physics and chemistry.

Taking place across four different venues across the city, the Firenze Scienza exhibition also places Florence's contribution at the fore.

It details 19th century physics in the city through displays of machines and instruments that were used at the time.

Before the unification of Italy in the 19th century, Florence was known as one of the European capitals of scientific knowledge.

Having opened earlier this month, the exhibition will run until May 9th 2010 and costs just EUR10 (GBP9) to get in.

The museum is open from 9:30 to 18:00 local time Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; from 9:30 to 13:00 local time Tuesday and Saturday and from 10:00 to 18:00 on Sunday.

To make the most of the Firenze Scienza, you should consider booking your hotel Firenze to avoid disappointment.

Anyone with a keen interest in science may also want to think about taking one of the tours around Tuscany on offer through the museum. Topics covered include earth sciences in Tuscany and metallurgy in Tuscany.
