SAN FRANCISCO, CA, December 18, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In light of recent news of possible security issues at a competing I-9 compliance software vendor's data center, Tracker Corp, http://trackercorp.com, today announced key security considerations that organizations should understand. A leading provider of software for streamlining immigration management and compliance with Form I-9 and E-Verify regulations, Tracker Corp also explained how its Tracker I-9 software satisfies these requirements for protecting U.S. workers' personal data.

Tracker I-9 is a SaaS (software as a service) solution with banking-level security. Tracker Corp takes multiple measures to ensure its customers' information stays protected at the corporation's data center. First, Tracker Corp guarantees encryption of all its communication done over the Internet, using the highest level of web browser security (128-bit SSL). Tracker Corp's backups are also encrypted so they cannot be used outside of the server environment.

Second, data encryption is not the only necessary measure for security. Unlike other I-9 software providers that comingle customer data, Tracker I-9 allocates a dedicated database to each customer. Tracker Corp stores each organization's data in a physically separate database file, eliminating the risk of one organization logging on and accidentally seeing the data of another. All user accounts require complex passwords and customer passwords are not known to Tracker Corp employees. Tracker Corp goes beyond these protocols and fully trains customers on how to set up the best mix of security policies for their unique internal requirements.

"Due to its database isolation of each customer's data from all other access points, Tracker Corp is the only company that would have helped in the extreme case where another Form I-9 software provider allegedly left an Admin user password exposed," said Tracker Corp President Fred Colman. "While Tracker also encrypts data, this recent example of an apparent human error shows how encryption alone is not enough to ensure data privacy."

Tracker Corp's Data center has achieved third-party validation of its physical and IT security protocols under the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type II. The SAS 70 certification is a standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) that is internationally recognized as a mark of service quality. Type II auditing verifies an organization's operating effectiveness over an extended period of time, to demonstrate consistent compliance with its security controls.

Tracker I-9 compliance software provides streamlined Form I-9 preparation and integration of paper and electronic I-9s, automatic error detection, submittal to E-Verify via automated batch processing or certified one-click delivery, customized reporting and self-auditing tools and a flexible application programming interface (API) for syncing with existing payroll or HR applications.

Providing software for immigration management and I-9 compliance used by approximately 75% of top-rated immigration law firms and many Fortune 1000 companies, Tracker Corp products include Tracker Immigration immigration management software and Tracker I-9 compliance software.
