Douglas Stoutenburg Owner of Resource Conservation Group, Supplier of Reclaimed Wood Materials Says... "You'll Love Living Green! Feel Good About Your Next Project. Recycle-Reclaim-Reuse!"

Being "green" is a hot topic right now. Imagine being in a position to help with the environment and at the same time offer warm, inviting reclaimed wood flooring filled with character that cannot be duplicated.

MARINA DEL REY, CA, December 19, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- At resource Conservation Group we offer a full line of reclaimed wood flooring. We take apart historic buildings all over the country, piece by piece, carefully maintaining the character and integrity of the wood. We offer multiple grades of hard-to-find historic woods such as reclaimed Oak, Heartpine, and Rustic Douglas Fir. Some woods, such as American Chestnut, can only be found through reclaimed sources.

We've dismantled Old Whiskey Storage Facilities, barns in Wyoming, bridges in Texas! We purchase old buildings and salvage all re-usable lumber. Nobody in the industry has more experience with this product or a more efficient milling system. From start to finish we control the quality as well as the costs. You WILL NOT find a better product or a more reliable supply source anywhere - period!

Along with all the partners in our group, we take down buildings all over the country from Old Whiskey Storage facilities to New York apartment buildings to dairy farms in Washington and bridges in Texas... you name it and we've probably done it.

The majority of the Reclaimed Flooring you buy from us comes from structures that were erected from the 1850's through about the 1940's. At the beginning of WWII, there was a major change in the lumber industry... in order to meet the demands of the war, 2 x 4's were turned into 1-3/4" x 3-1/2" and younger, weaker trees were used. That practice never changed back after the war and this is what you buy from a typical lumber yard today.

Many of the buildings we get our material from have been standing vacant for years or have outlived their usefulness. Buildings from this pre-WWII era were built with OLD GROWTH TIMBER, which means the trees used for the lumber may have been 300-500 years old. These trees cannot be cut down today but, at that time, there seemed to be an abundant supply.

Owner, Douglas Stoutenberg states,"Serving you with a focus on Service, Quality & Fair Prices" isn't just something we put out there to make you feel warm and fuzzy about us. It's a philosophy that we have lived by since the very beginning... it's what has pulled us through tough economic times by building customer loyalty and what will keep us going for many years to come."

In addition to our Reclaimed Wood Flooring, Resource Conservation Group also offers FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified Flooring as an alternative to the rustic look of reclaimed.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a non-profit organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the world's forests. FSC sets high standards that ensure forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically viable way. The FSC was developed following the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio. Responsible forestry became the topic of many cultures around the world. Their goal was to make clear the answer to the question, "what is sustainable forestry?" In 1995, the FSC-US was established in Washington DC.

Resource Conservation Group comes highly recommended. Please view our testimonials below to assure you of quality products and service. Allow our satisfied customers to help you make a responsible decision when purchasing your flooring, tabletops, or other lumber needs.

Here is what Douglas Stoutenberg's happy clients and affiliates are saying...

I found your site by searching for some old growth Douglas Fir, I wanted to build a conference table with an "obsolete" feel. I called you up, arranged to visit your timber yard and mill, you showed me some 19 feet long 2 inch thick Douglas Fir! "Beautiful" I said, and the price was terrific. Thank you Doug!
