Get Into The Racing Spirit With The Superbike Championship In Italy

Superbike fans may not want to miss the Superbike Championship when it comes to Monza, near Milan this year.

MILAN, ITALY, January 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Italy is home to the Ducati motorbike and fans will be in for a real treat this year as the fifth round of the Superbike Championship comes to Monza.

People staying at accommodation in Milan can make the short journey to the Autodrome Nationale and spend a day or the whole weekend at the event, which takes place on May the 8th and 9th.

This is one of the most famous circuits in the world and spectators will undoubtedly get into the racing spirit as they watch the motors speed around the track.

One of the most attractive things for many fans about the Superbike Championship is that the vehicles are based on production models, so people can identify with them as they race.

According to What's on When, anyone looking to experience the sport "in its spiritual home" will find that "a visit to Monza is a must".

"The support is fanatical and if one of the flame-red bikes crosses the line first you can expect delirium to set in," the travel site adds.

Tickets for the Superbike Championship fifth round cost EUR295-EUR350 (GBP261-GBP310) on Saturday 8th or EUR220-EUR250 on Sunday 9th. A two-day ticket is priced at EUR485.

In September, the Formula One racing competition will also make its annual stop at Monza.

Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, commented: "Demand for the Superbike Championship is always significant and we recommend that anyone considering attending should book their hotel Milano as early as possible."
