OhioHealth Named to FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work for 2010" List for the Fourth Year in a Row- Receives Highest Ranking in Ohio

OhioHealth announces it received the highest ranking in Ohio by earning the #46 spot on FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work for 2010."

COLUMBUS, OH, January 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- OhioHealth, a not-for-profit family of hospitals in Columbus, Ohio, announced today that it has been named one of the country's "100 Best Companies to Work for 2010" by FORTUNE magazine. This is the fourth year in a row that OhioHealth has earned the award, ranking #46 this year. OhioHealth is the highest ranked employer in Ohio and one of only four healthcare organizations in the top 50.

"We are especially honored to be named to the list again this year due to the challenges we have all had to face together," said Dave Blom, president and CEO of OhioHealth. "In a year defined by change and all that goes with it, our associates remained committed to OhioHealth and our vision of being the place where people want to work, where physicians want to practice and where patients want to go when they need healthcare -- and it has resulted in this prestigious recognition."

To pick the 100 best companies, FORTUNE partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index Survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management's credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie.

The other third of the scoring is based on the company's responses to the Institute's Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring, communication and diversity.

"We are in excellent company," said Brucie Boggs, senior VP of human resources. "When you think of the companies on this year's list, you think of great service and quality. Standing side-by-side with each of them means OhioHealth is on par with some of the nation's most esteemed companies. We are so very proud of our 15,000 associates and everything they do."

According to FORTUNE Deputy Managing Editor Hank Gilman, "The most important considerations for this year's list were hiring and the ways in which companies are helping their employees weather the recession. All 100 companies on our list are currently hiring, many of them aggressively, leading to more than 96,000 open job positions expected in the next year."
