New Spin on Golf Concept a "Whole in One"

Washginton State author and avid golfer developes golf strategy system called "pocket pro" that helps golfers play like the pros.

/24-7PressRelease/ - SPOKANE, WA, April 26, 2006 - With Golf season starting, (at least in the Northwest), most golfers are thinking about dusting off the clubs and tuning up the ol' swing a bit before heading out on the links. Some golfers, however, are contemplating their strategy on the course this season. While admitting that nothing beats good golf instruction, Jeff Gustafson, of The Sixth Man, knows that building a solid strategy for any golf course makes nothing but sense. "Gustafson's company is now rolling out their complete golf booklet series under the moniker Pocket Pro with the slogan "Put a Pro in Your Pocket" since all of their booklets are built with input from Club Professionals through its Golf Product Advisory Board."

This Personal Game Plan and Strategy System series of booklets hit golf shops this season, and help the players map out a logical strategy for any golf course.

"If a golfer wants to really improve his or her game, strategy is the answer" says Gustafson, "know the course, know your game, and play smart within your abilities." This concept of the game as a whole is what the Pocket Pro booklets are all about.

Managing the Course, Plan Your Strategy and The Situation Golf Guide are all available this season through more than 10,000 Golf outlets throughout the country as part of the Strategy Golf Center. Designed to be taken on the course, Gustafson's Managing and Strategy booklets allow the player to make notes and even sketch specifics about fairways and greens that help in developing a sound strategy that leads to better golf. The Situation Golf Guide then provides pointers for playing those unusual lies that seem to "always bite us" whether in normal, wet or even windy conditions.

There is no substitute for practice, but according to Gustafson, strategizing and planning will develop an "in-the-moment" focus that will allow the player to control the game. "If you have done your homework correctly, you should know every nook and cranny on every hole. The course itself doesn't change," says Gustafson, "the only moving target is the weather. Strategy Golf works. It has been the secret of professionals for years." And it can improve your game too.
