The D Gallery at the Royal Phuket Marina is set to play host to Day-Night and Day, an exhibition of the works of Ho Chi Minh City artist Nguyen Tan Cuong.

A graduate of the Saigon Fine Arts College, Cuong is known for his mastery of light manipulation.

His work makes use of natural, rough fibres - giving it a tactile, organic quality - to build texture on canvas before creating rich imagery over the top.

Cuong's work has previously been exhibited in Vietnam, Singapore, Italy, Belgium, the UK and the United States.

Those who are staying in Phuket hotels will be able to take in the exhibition between 11:00 and 19:00 local time from Tuesday to Saturday, while Sunday's opening hours are between noon and 18:00. The exhibition is set to wrap up at the end of May.

D Gallery at the Royal Phuket Marina is home to more than 200 sq m of contemporary Asian art - with exhibitions hailing mainly from Thailand and Vietnam.

Events at the gallery highlight the work of established and up-and coming artists in celebration of their cultures.
