See Vintage Bikes at Rome's Monte Mario Motorcycling Circuit - LateRooms.com

Vintage bikes will be paraded around a route in Rome as part of an annual event to celebrate such machines.

ROME, ITALY, April 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bike enthusiasts will not want to miss the Monte Mario Motorcycling Circuit in Rome, which sees a huge selection of vintage machines take to the road to the delight of watching crowds.

Guests at Rome hotels can either take part by bringing along any motorcycle made before December 31st 1989 or they can simply look on and take in the rare sight of so many classic bikes riding through the streets at the same time.

The route that participants will travel takes in plenty of sights around the Italian city, including Piazza Risorgimento, Piazza Cavour and Via Leone IV.

This year, as well as the vast array of scooters, restored vehicles and period motorbikes, there will be machines entered by the municipal police, fire brigade and prison police.

"It's an unmissable occasion when motorcycle enthusiasts can admire hundreds of vehicles and hear their engines roaring," stated travel website What's on When.

For those who are taking part, the day begins at 08:00 local time, when they will be given breakfast and have their bikes tested, before beginning a lap of the circuit at 09:00 and then starting the competition at 09:30.

Entrance costs EUR15 (GBP13), but anyone who wants to turn up and watch can do so for free.

"The Monte Mario Motorcycling Circuit is likely to be popular," said Jess Reading, head of marketing at LateRooms. "LateRooms strongly recommends people considering attending to book hotel Roma as soon as possible."
