Cake Poker Announces May Promotions - Races, Gold Spree and Door Crashers

Cake Poker (www.cakepoker.com) is pleased to announce three great promotions for May: races, Gold Spree and Door Crashers.

CURACAO, May 04, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cake Poker (www.cakepoker.com) is pleased to announce three great promotions for May.

Starting May 1, Cake Poker is holding $200K in races: a special May $150K Point Race and their ongoing $50,000 Gold Card Race. The May $150k race is made up of four weekly races and one monthly race, giving players five chances to claim a share of $150,000. Every frequent player point (FPP) earned at the Cake Poker real money ring game and tournament tables equals one race point. The four weekly races will pay the top 200 point earners a share of $25,000 or up to $1,500 cash. All four weekly race point totals will be combined for the $50K Monthly Race standing where the top 300 will cash for up to $3,500. Those who come late to the party will be happy to know that the value of FPPs will increase in value each week with week 2 points being multiplied by two, week 3 points by three and week 4 points by four. Races run May 1st through May 31st.

Back by popular demand, Cake Poker will be running Gold Spree from May 15th through June 18th. Players will be issued a personalized FPP Goal to achieve by June 1st - if players hit it they'll claim a seat in Cake's $25K Kamikaze for a chance to win up to $5,000, plus they'll trigger a bonus that can quadruple their June rewards. Unique to Cake, a Kamikaze tournament is a form of a No-Limit Shootout. Kamikaze tournaments run quickly and require no action from players as all hands are forced all-in. A table winner is quickly declared and the tournament continues at warp speed until the prize pool is distributed.

Also in May, players will be banging down the doors to sign up for the amazingly high value in Cake's Door Crasher tournaments running from May 1st to the 15th. Door Crasher tourneys will pop up on the Cake Poker tournament board at random intervals between 12 - 2 PM and 9 -11 PM ET. The kicker? Players will only have ten minutes notice to get in the game! They will have to act fast to take advantage of these value-added tournaments as seats are first-come, first-served and will have limited seating - with caps ranging from 10 to 40 players. Buy-ins will be randomized as well, ranging from 1 Gold Chip to $30.

Card Room Manager Lee Jones notes, "Since the April rake race in this format was so popular, we are bringing it back for May. As far as we know, nobody else does a rake race where the value of points you earn increases each week through the month. We're delighted to give the latecomers a fair shot at winning the big monthly prizes."

Win something for your mom this May. Players of all levels are welcome at Cake Poker, online poker's most rewarding site. You'll find all of Cake Poker's unique promotions and reward programs at www.cakepoker.com.
