News Coverage of John Joseph Kennedy, Write-in Democratic 2004 Presidential Candidate Blocked Angering Millions of Voters

    /24-7PressRelease.com/ November 2, 2004 - While millions of Americans around the country plan to write in “John Joseph Kennedy” on their ballots November 2, 2004, millions more are angry that they were prevented from hearing about Kennedy and his candidacy by the media and the government although numerous attempts were made by professionals within and outside of his campaign. Is this yet another example of manipulation of the American people?

When John Joseph Kennedy first announced his candidacy in July, 2004, media professionals in his campaign were turned away from key media sources in television, radio and the printed press. More than 3,000 press releases went out to the mainstream media: television, radio, newspapers, magazines yet they ignored them. The Kennedy campaign staff also sent video tapes and made personal calls to top television programs with national and international coverage such as, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CNN, C-SPAN, NBC News, ABC News, The Larry King Show, Nightline, The Washington Journal, Barbara Walters 20/20(ABC),Good Morning America(ABC), Ted Koppel(ABC), World News Tonight with Peter Jennings(ABC), 60 Minutes(CBS), 60 Minutes II(CBS), MSNBC, Meet the Press(NBC), Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, The Today Show(NBC), Face the Nation(CBS), NPR, PBS, The Charlie Rose Show, The Bill Moyers Show(HBO), The Phil Donahue Show, 48 Hours, The Late Late Show, Unscrewed, Comedy Central, all Clear Channel radio talk shows including such programs as KHOW’s The Peter Boyles Show(Denver), KIRO’s Mike Webb(Seattle) and Coast to Coast AM where presidential candidates were recently invited as guests. Prominent democratic radio shows were also contacted, such as, Air America, Alternative Radio and Democracy Now. Americans have contacted the Kennedy campaign around the country asking why John Joseph Kennedy has not appeared on these national television and radio programs and have become angry when they discover the repeated efforts made to get him on these shows from the beginning.

Another media example is of a top, highly-rated wire press release company which first told the Kennedy campaign on September 17, 2004 that there was no proof of John Joseph Kennedy’s candidacy and they would not be able to accept a press release until such proof is provided. Just prior to being contacted with the requested “proof”, Kennedy’s staff was told in a voice message from the PR firm representative that she was not aware of a policy that was in effect about write-in political candidates and the company will not be able to accept any press releases from the Kennedy campaign, but to call them with any questions. The message stated that this information was in an email she had received. When contacted by phone, Kennedy’s staff was told “there is an actual, documented policy stating that write-in political candidates cannot send press releases through our service” and that this policy will be sent to the Kennedy campaign headquarters by fax. A request was immediately made for a copy of the email to also be forwarded which allegedly stated the reasons why the Kennedy press release was declined and why press releases will not be accepted in the future by the Kennedy campaign. To date nothing has been received by the Kennedy staff from this company.

The staff at the Kennedy campaign made great efforts working overtime - literally working around the clock in all time zones to get information about John Joseph Kennedy’s Presidential campaign out to all key media sources around the country. They too have found it disturbing that the media has not responded to this important news in spite of having inside media connections.

GOVERNMENT AND STATES
Certain states either do not provide for write-in presidential candidates, do not allow write-in presidential candidates at all, have provisions for write-in candidates but have staff that are not well informed about the procedures, or have provisions for write-in presidential candidates but do not seem to care about following the procedures.

For example, in the state of Oregon, Margie Franz, Compliance Specialist at the Oregon Secretary of State Elections Office, informed a member of the Kennedy staff (when asked for clarity and verification of elector procedures) that “he [John Joseph Kennedy] isn’t going to win anyway so why bother?” Ms. Franz continued to say that “although Oregon allows for write-in presidential candidates, write-in candidates never win in Oregon.” The Kennedy staff member reminded Ms. Franz that she is expressing her opinion. She agreed and gave the staff member the on-line location of the statutes for write-in presidential candidates. She said she will accept what the Kennedy campaign sends in and will file it in the records where they will stay for many years, adding the comment, “it really doesn't matter.”

One JJK elector in another state offered to pick up last minute, signed elector forms and drive 90 miles to the capitol to turn them in before the deadline that afternoon. When he arrived at the State Elections office, he was turned away and told they would only accept a list of the names and addresses, not forms, for a write-in presidential candidate and that the deadline was the following day to turn the list in. The JJK elector was very upset that he traveled that distance for nothing and about the misinformation given by the certain staff members of this office in the first place. Although the Kennedy campaign was told the official forms must be signed and turned in, they learned from this experience that the list was acceptable. Within a few minutes, they also learned that the deadline for the list was indeed that afternoon, not the following day as the elector had just been told.

Another example is the state of Florida which denied Kennedy from being on their ballots, deciding to use a voting system preventing voters from writing in any presidential candidate’s name. This clearly takes away the rights of Americans in Florida to vote for whom they want and they are angry. Along with his campaign experts, Kennedy actually created a minor party called the True Democrat Party, at the suggestion of the Florida Election Board. He filled out the charter and followed every procedure provided by Leslie Sullivan of the Florida Division of Elections and then was denied at the last second for one of their technicalities which they sprung on the last day.

On Sunday, October 31, The Associated Press released the news stating that “Many states are facing legal challenges over possible voting problems Nov. 2.” The states written about in this AP story include Colorado, Florida, Oregon and Wisconsin. Details can be found at:

Another interesting story about this topic in the state of Florida is called, “Hoodwinked: Why is Florida's voting system so corrupt?” written by Ann Louise Bardach who covers politics for Slate Magazine. Ann writes,

“Indeed, election fraud in Florida long precedes the 2000 debacle. In some counties it extends all the way back to the early days of Florida's statehood, in 1845. Florida's political culture derives from several different regions—the north, near Georgia, has more in common with the southern part of the United States; the south with Latin America—so election fraud tends to differ in the two regions. In the northern part of the state, for example, sheriffs have been known to let certain boxes of ballots—thought to be unfavorable to a particular politician—fall out of their squad cars and tumble into the Gulf of Mexico. In the south, notably Miami-Dade, a remarkable number of dead people have been known to rise up and make it to the polls. In 1998, Miami's mayoral election of Xavier Suarez was overthrown for a host of irregularities, including the fact that a man named Manuel Yip, who had died four years earlier, had voted for Suarez. States which do not allow write-in candidates are Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina and South Dakota. Americans in these states are especially angry that they are not being allowed to vote for John Joseph Kennedy or any write-in presidential candidate. All of this information and more, of obvious manipulation of the American people revealed by various states across the country, as well as by the mass media, have been very disturbing to John Joseph Kennedy, his electors and voters, and the entire Kennedy campaign staff.

Although there are many examples of manipulation by the media and the government to keep the American people from knowing about John Joseph Kennedy and his running for President of the United States of America, grassroots efforts from the Kennedy campaign have produced phenomenal results in a very short period of time. Non-Violence in Schools. Non-Violence in children's television programming, publishing, games and websites. Healing of innocent children who are victims of child abuse. This is of the utmost importance and lies at the very heart of the spiritual malady plaguing America. I have worked for the last 20 years as a citizen, Board Member of San Francisco Child Abuse Council (1985-1986), an activist, writer, motivational speaker, and producer on all of these issues. I have a profound awareness and understanding of these issues, and a comprehensive, non-negotiable plan to remedy them. Right the Wrong!

NON-VIOLENCE IN THE MEDIA-All Genres:
As President I will initiate an ecliptic program to end the prevailing violence in the media, which permeates every aspect of our lives and mind. Mind is one of the greatest powers there is. Thought is our use of this power. We must order our minds to think positively and constructively at all times. End the fictitious scripting in the news media. Truth, and only Truth, will set us free! Right the Wrong!

COMPASSIONATE MISSION TO END THE WAR ON HOMELESSNESS:
Rebuild the infrastructure of America First dollar for dollar what has been allotted for the war in Iraq. We must begin with the homeless, the poor and the tens of millions of Americans who are only a few paychecks away from being homeless. Right the Wrong!

UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE/HEALTH:
It is appalling that the richest nation in the World has 44 Million Americans without Health Care. Affordable Health Care for All! As President, I will also fight to find a cure for A.I.D.S. I will support and promote the ultimate care of A.I.D.S patients and those afflicted with the HIV virus both in America and globally. I will lift the ban on stem cell research. Right the Wrong!

RESTORATION OF OUR CIVIL and CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS:
As President, I will totally repeal the fraudulent “Patriot Act”, with a special focus on individuals Rights to Privacy. I will institute constitutional law, restore all individual rights of privacy and autonomy that is the birthright of every American citizen. We must never forget who stripped these from us. It was not only the Republican Bush family administration, but also masquerading Democrats, including Senator John Kerry, Senator John Edwards, Ms. Hillary Clinton, et al. I will re-design the abusive Social Security system (there is nothing "secure" about your SSN) with its criminal and flagrant abuse of our individual rights to privacy, by issuing every American citizen a new Personal Security Number (PSN) and abolishing the SSN as we know it today.

I will start with a clean slate. Every American deserves this. Furthermore, I will continue to expose the secret government and black box budgets and make the government transparent, accountable and responsive to the US citizens. I will stop the intimidation of US citizens. I will stop the fear tactics by the Bush family administration and US government. I will re-direct military spending to domestic programs of health, homelessness and create a new infrastructure to support and finance humanitarian programs for the handicapped and under-privileged.

I support all civil rights for ALL people and whole-heartedly support the legal recognition of same-sex marriages. Simple solution: Equal rights for ALL humankind. Right the Wrong!

ENVIRONMENT and ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE:
Protect the oceans and her inhabitants! Permanent ban on Low and Mid-Frequency Sonar Testing and international whaling. Strictest enforcement of the laws to prevent toxic waste, toxic dumping and toxic industries. I will restore and enforce all environmental protection laws that have been stripped, raped and illegally destroyed by the Bush family administration. As I have always done, I will make a life-long commitment to the environment and protect our wilderness areas.

I will stop the Bush family's manipulation of the elements of nature (hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes) which have wrecked insurmountable havoc on our environment and disturbed the natural-flow of all life on this planet. They (especially Bush Sr.) have done this for personal, political and financial gain and greed. I have already begun to expose their "stalking and looting of the American people" with their vast environmental insurance scams and other seemingly benevolent programs and will continue to do so until the insanity stops! And it stops at the front door of the maniacal Bush family and their control over the White House. Period. They have no real power. Only control. There is a difference. It is time the entire Bush family, and all environmental polluters, are held criminally, socially and spiritually accountable. Furthermore, we must no longer be held hostage to oil.

We must create long overdue development of renewable energy resources and alternative technologies, universal standard of fuel economy and renewable energy technologies. Right the Wrong!

REBUILD INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: Repair the damage that the entire Bush family, and their criminal administrations in Washington, D.C., Texas and Florida have perpetuated onto the world. Restore America's dignity and integrity in the eyes of the world. Heal international relationships, fix broken treaties, declare peace and institute a Department of Peace and a Junior Academy of Peace for Children. Right the Wrong!

SPIRIT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP: In each of us is a creative spirit. As your President I will restore the Arts in schools. I will also encourage, support and finance the Arts and the bright ideas and business ventures of the American People.
