Manipulate Flow Rates or Volume Instantaneously and Maximize Performance with Servo Cylinders Volumetric Filling Machines

Exlar's GSX actuators improve filling reliability and accuracy by allowing users flexibility to control flow rates and volume without setting changes. Featuring a sealed design, the actuators require less maintenance, minimizing costs and downtime.

MINNETONKA, MN, September 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Replace the cams or air cylinders in a volumetric filling machine with an Exlar actuator for precise volume control and an accurate fill rate. The Exlar GSX Series actuator operates the piston pump, allowing users to achieve better than 0.1% fill accuracy.

The flexibility offered by the servo based Exlar actuator offers users the ability to manipulate flow rates or volume instantaneously, without setting any switches or changing out any cams. Container size, volume, or liquid changes are simple to obtain by entering a new setting in the operator interface panel, or having a PLC do the changes. Additionally, users can operate independent lanes or synchronize all the pumps together.

The GSX Series provides a wash-down compatible, sealed design in a compact package. Replacing the cams or fluid power cylinders can be an easy retrofit resulting in better performance, less maintenance and longer life of the machine.

Exlar actuators are used to pump many products including milk, fruit juice, gelatin, yogurt, pudding, pet food, soup, cake batter, paint, lip stick, grease and solvents.

Planetary roller screw technology offers up to 15 times the life of ball screw actuators. Additional features include:
- Peak forces up to 25,000 lbf
- Speeds to 40 inches per second
- IP67 ratings for wash-down requirements
- Food industry standard white epoxy or electroless nickel coatings
- Options for stainless steel construction
- Multiple mounting styles
- High cycle rates
- Operation with nearly any servo amplifier
- Multiple stroke lengths and sizes
