Submittal Exchange and BuildSite Announce Partnership to Improve Submittal Process Efficiency

Submittal Exchange clients can access product information from the BuildSite database, accelerating the submittal process.

MINNETONKA, MN, July 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Submittal Exchange, a collaborative online system for exchanging, reviewing, and archiving construction submittals, RFIs, and other construction communications, today announced a new feature allowing subcontractors access to product information for submittal forms directly from BuildSite. BuildSite is a single source of product, technical and green building product information for the construction industry.

"BuildSite has always aimed to simplify submittals for the AEC industry," said Ned Trainor, president of BuildSite. "Now our search will connect with the Submittal Exchange workspace. This integration will save Submittal Exchange customers time by allowing them to add product data from BuildSite directly into Submittal Exchange."

With this integration, Submittal Exchange users further accelerate the submittal process by linking directly to construction product data from BuildSite's comprehensive database of product and technical information. This database houses more than 20,000 products from over 350 manufacturers and includes Green Data for LEED submittals. Products on BuildSite can be searched four ways: by manufacturer, by MasterFormat product category, by ASTM, and by Advanced LEED parameters. The result is an electronic submittal register with links to product data that can be approved line-by-line.

"Submittal Exchange and BuildSite are great complements to each other. Project team members can find their submittal data on BuildSite, and then manage the review process through Submittal Exchange," said Matt Ostanik, President of Submittal Exchange. "We hear from design and construction professionals every day who are excited about the savings that result from tools like Submittal Exchange and BuildSite. The increased collaboration makes sense in today's era of Integrated Project Delivery."

Submittal Exchange saves time, reduces costs, and decreases paperwork for construction project teams by providing a collaborative, secure, online system for managing communications during the construction process. Subcontractors play an integral role in construction communications, and by improving their front line processes, Submittal Exchange is able to increase efficiency across the project and for all team members.
