Pardee Homes' Furniture Donation Benefits Opportunity Village in Las Vegas

Pardee Homes, Las Vegas, donated approximately $10,000 in furniture to Opportunity Village, a not-for-profit organization serving people with intellectual disabilities after a July 11 fire destroyed the charity's downtown Las Vegas thrift store.

LAS VEGAS, NV, July 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When a devastating fire destroyed Opportunity Village's Thrift Store on Main Street in downtown Las Vegas, Pardee Homes was motivated to help. The homebuilder donated a warehouse full of furniture, valued at approximately $10,000, to the not-for-profit organization to help rebuild its thrift store operations.

The donated furniture, pictures, accessories and decorative items were previously on display in model homes at Pardee Homes' neighborhoods in the Las Vegas valley.

"We have nearly 60 years of history in our community and a legacy of giving back," said Klif Andrews, division president, Pardee Homes. "Opportunity Village also has a wonderful legacy in our community and we're happy to be able to give during this challenging time."

The donated items will eventually be offered for sale at Opportunity Village's thrift stores. The July 11 fire has left the organization searching for donated retail space for its thrift operations while it rebuilds its downtown location.
