HIA-LI Names Winners of HIA-LI 16th Annual Business Achievement Awards

Five leading Long Island-based businesses selected in categories of outstanding large business, small business, Rookie of the Year, non-profit and innovation.



    HAUPPAUGE, NY, August 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- HIA-LI, the recognized voice for business on Long Island, is proud to announce the winning companies for its prestigious 16th Annual Business Achievement Awards competition. Company representatives for each of the winning companies will be presented with a beautiful plaque bearing the HIA-LI logo and engraved with the winning business' name. The award ceremony will be held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY, 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM on Tuesday, September 14th before an expected crowd of over 400 prestigious businesspersons and government officials. Winners include a diverse group of outstanding organizations representing large businesses, small businesses, rookie of the year, non-profits and innovation.

Winners of the HIA-LI's 16th Annual Business Achievement Awards for 2010 are:
- Large Business--The Tiffen Company, a Long Island-based leading manufacturer and distributor of award winning accessories for the still imaging, motion picture and broadcast markets.
- Small Business--Irwin Contracting Inc., a family operated business serving the construction needs of the New York metropolitan area.
- Rookie of the Year--Campolo, Middleton & Associates, LLP, a leading full-service Long Island law firm.
- Non-profit Organization--Long Island Cares, Inc., The Harry Chapin Food Bank, a leading anti-hunger organization and Long Island's first food bank, serving the hungry on Long Island since 1980.
- A special award for Innovation will be presented to Brookhaven Science Associates / Brookhaven National Lab, which conducts research in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, as well as in energy technologies and national security.
