Enterprise Jet Center FBO Opens Dedicated Maintenance Facility At Houston Hobby KHOU

Enterprise Jet Center FBO at KHOU expands opens a 30,000-sq. ft. hangar dedicated to maintenance and repair services.

HOUSTON, TX, September 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For the second time in five years Enterprise Jet Center is expanding its already formidable complex at Hobby Airport in Houston. This time Enterprise Jet Center has moved its entire maintenance department into the company's former hangar adjacent to the current terminal. The 30,000-sq. ft. hangar gives Enterprise more dedicated space for maintenance and repair services, while allowing more space for tenant aircraft in the terminal hangar.

Bobby Courtney, President & CEO of Enterprise Jet Center, in making the announcement said the recent move gives both the FBO terminal/hangar and the maintenance hangar growing room.

"The way it was, we were limited on both tenant and maintenance space. We couldn't grow either one. Now, everyone has space to grow and it's more efficient. Our tenants and maintenance customers are happy with the changes and so are we."

In 2006, Enterprise Jet Center opened a 300,000-square foot terminal office building and hangar, including a 10,000-sq. ft. canopy the only one of its kind at Hobby. Enterprise has been a Certified FAA Repair Station (J89R218Y) since 2007. Since its opening in 2006, Enterprise has been the #1 FBO at Hobby Airport.

Director of maintenance, Kevin Nichols, is a 30-year veteran of aircraft maintenance and repairs. Nichols has been with Enterprise since 2007.

"Our mechanics have excellent credentials including AMC's and factory training in Kingair, Cessna and Falcon, plus NDT Level 2 certifications," said Nichols. "One of our crew has 20 years working on the Hawker Bae-125 series. And our sheet metal technician is an artist. We can handle inspections, certifications and repairs in one-stop. All we needed was more space."

The new maintenance facility has handled Gulfstreams, Challengers, Citations, Kingairs, Hawkers, Lear Jet, Beechjet, and Falcon 2000 aircraft. About ten planes are in the shop at one time, said Nichols. "Until recently about 15 percent of our business was on transient aircraft at other facilities, with the new facility we can do more work on site."

Enterprise offers engine maintenance and repairs, through major independent and OEM authorized facilities, and Avionics repairs/installations provided by FAA approved local and nationally recognized shops. The maintenance shop is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; emergency maintenance or repairs are available after hours and on weekends. Enterprise is the exclusive distributor for AV Fuels at Hobby (KHOU).

Looking ahead, Nichols would like to see Enterprise maintenance centers in other locations and partnerships with independent FBOs.

"Economy aside, there's not reason we shouldn't expand to other markets. The services we provide will always be in demand as long as there are airplanes," Nichols said. "A well-trained crew and on-the-spot communication with the owner or pilot when a situation arises, is the key to success in this business. With email and cell phones it's easy to stay in touch."

Enterprise Jet Center has been in operation at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, TX since 1979.
