LateRooms.com - See A-Ha Bow Out in Munich

A-Ha are touring for the final time in October and December, with one concert taking place in Munich.

MUNICH, GERMANY, September 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Scandinavian pop sensations A-Ha are set to stop in Munich on their last ever tour this autumn.

The Norwegian trio have announced their retirement from the music industry at the end of this year, with their final trip around Europe due to culminate with three sold-out concerts in Oslo in December.

Before those dates, they will play at Munich's Olympiahalle on October 18th.

This means fans staying in Munich hotels will have a chance to see A-Ha perform hits such as Take On Me and The Sun Always Shines on TV live for the last time.

According to the band's website, the Ending On a High Note tour will be an opportunity to "experience the music and live energy first-hand" before the group bow out.

Formed in 1982, A-Ha went on to become Norway's most internationally successful musical export after the release of their debut album Hunting High and Low in 1985.

This record spawned Take On Me, a song that became synonymous with the emergence of MTV as a result of its innovative music video, which was directed by Steve Barron.

It was also ubiquitous on mainstream radio and has been covered by countless other artists. According to the group's official website, the song has been played three million times on US radio stations.

A-Ha continued to record and release music throughout the 1990s and 2000s, with their latest album Foot of the Mountain appearing in June last year. The band have confirmed that this is their final album, with the single Butterfly, Butterfly (The Last Hurrah) due to be their official swan song.

Tickets for the Munich concert are selling quickly, but some are still available for EUR50.05 (GBP41.70) plus booking fee.
