Nickelodeon's Kai-Lan to Appear at AAA Great Vacations EXPO Kids Day to Feature Nick Jr. Favorite, Baby Giraffe, Stick Horse Rodeo and Much More

Nickelodeon's favorite bilingual, bicultural preschooler, Kai-Lan, will be a featured guest at the AAA Great Vacations EXPO on Kids Day, Saturday, January 22, 2011. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.



    COLUMBUS, OH, December 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nickelodeon's favorite bilingual, bicultural preschooler, Kai-Lan, will be a featured guest at the AAA Great Vacations EXPO on Kids Day, Saturday, January 22, 2011. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., this wildly popular cartoon character will be on hand at the EXPO to meet guests and pose for pictures with fans. Ni Hao Kai-Lan is a play-along, think-along Nick Jr. series that embraces Chinese language and culture, preschool-age stories and interactivity.

Designed to entertain kids of all ages, Kids Day at the EXPO kicks off at 10 a.m. and will be packed with family-friendly fun. Special events run throughout the day and kids can experience an incredible line-up of activities, events and workshops designed just for them. Guests can meet favorite mascots and characters, take part in hands-on kids' activities and enjoy family entertainment, including:

- The "Passport for Prizes," where guests visit attractions and exhibits throughout the EXPO, have their passport stamped and enter to win a Universal Orlando Resort family vacation

- At 1 p.m., an unforgettable menagerie introduces kids to the unique and exotic animals found at The Farm at Walnut Creek in Ohio's Amish Country, including a baby giraffe, a grevy zebra, dromedary camel, ring-tailed lemur, African-crested porcupine and other exotic birds and animals

- Popular Hocking Hills State Park naturalist Patrick Quackenbush takes the stage with his live animals: at noon with reptiles and at 2:30 p.m. in The Great Outdoors adventure area with birds of prey

- Ohio Caverns will offer free panning for real gemstones in an authentic, working mining sluice

- From 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The CW at WWHO 53 Kids Corner will let kids design their own luggage tags, enjoy activities, mascots, and giveaways

- Back by popular demand, the Marmon Valley Farm Stick Horse Rodeo at 2 p.m. pits pint-sized pony riders against one another in a fun test of speed and agility

The AAA Great Vacations EXPO opens Friday, January 21 and runs through Sunday, January 23, at Franklin County Veterans Memorial in downtown Columbus. Show hours are Friday 12 p.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tickets are available at any AAA Ohio Auto Club store for $9 or $6 for any AAA member.
