Bat Blue Wins 20Gig Content Delivery Deal

CLIFTON, NJ, January 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bat Blue Corporation, an expert provider of IP and cloud-based next-generation network and security solutions, has signed a four-year, 20Gig content delivery deal with a major media organization with a worldwide presence in over 200 countries and reaching approximately 100 million U.S. viewers per month. The organization selected Bat Blue's BlueNET, to support their content delivery requirements worldwide. BlueNET is a purpose-built network for organizations that demand high-performance IP and Internet services to support cloud-based applications and rich media content.

Bat Blue was selected after a one year evaluation against 3 other major carriers' IP networks, where performance, resiliency, network reach, consistency and customer service were compared. Bat Blue was unanimously selected as the leader in every area of the evaluation. Specifically, Bat Blue outperformed the legacy carrier competitors by a factor of 10 in the area of performance.

"BlueNET is not only a fast network, its designed to scale, where performance improves with increased utilization," stated Piotr Nowak, Manager of Technical Services for Bat Blue. "The more our clients use the network, the faster and more efficient it becomes."

Incorporating a next generation design and carrier-grade infrastructure, BlueNET utilizes what Bat Blue calls "Intelligent Hot-Potato-Extreme", which allows it to operate at 10ms or less regionally and guarantees "One Hop Out" regardless of the destination. The average ISP provides a 100% Layer 3 network, traversing multiple Layer 3 points on the network before it finds its way to another network and so on until it reaches its destination. BlueNET works at Layer 1 and Layer 2, avoiding Layer 3 routing until it is absolutely necessary. This delivers significantly better performance since traffic is directed to precisely the appropriate point of egress without the latency associated with Layer 3 routing.

"When we designed BlueNET, we made no assumptions about having it operate like all other IP networks. We questioned everything," said Babak Pasdar, President & CEO of Bat Blue. "When all was said and done we formulated Bat Blue's tenets for data handling, which are: 1. Repeat when you can; 2. Never switch when you can repeat; 3. Never route when you can switch; 4. Never route more than once."

Repeating is done at 125 miles per millisecond, switching is done at 570 - 700 nanoseconds, while routing, the most unreliable and inconsistent way to move data, is done at 2 - 25 milliseconds, depending on device load. The typical IP networks adds critical milliseconds of latency at every Layer 3 hop, impacting overall performance. BlueNET avoids the unnecessary latency with its unique Layer2/3 design, which is the reason it can reach sites like Google in 2ms or less.

As component of the service, BlueNET provides multiple next-hops to ensure Layer 3 resiliency. Clients are able to peer with each of Bat Blue's next-hop routers, empowering them to make a decision on the best egress site. BlueNET can be leveraged to provide Layer 2 site to site connectivity at multiple points across the country, but clients pay for just one IP commitment. This promotes cost-savings, flexibility and empowers resiliency.

BlueNET will continue to expand it's reach and availability throughout the next year. BlueNET is currently available nationwide, and will begin service in European and Asian markets by the end of 2011.
