Moneynet names Halifax Reward Current Account as 'Best Current Account (credit balance)' in 2011 Awards

    HALIFAX, ENGLAND, February 17, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Halifax Reward Current Account has won 'Best Current Account (credit balance)' at the inaugural Moneynet Personal Finance Awards for 2011.

Moneynet said the awards are designed to recognise those personal finance providers which had products and services that had stood out from the crowd over the last 12 months.

A spokesman for the consumer champions, Andrew Hagger, commented: "It has been another extremely challenging year for banks, building societies and credit card companies but some have gone the extra mile to outperform their rivals with excellent deals for the consumer."

He added the results were compiled by a team of researchers who had analysed data over the last year to come up with the products which had been able to offer the most competitive rates, fees and features to provide their customers with "an all-round good deal".

The bank was also named in the savings category for its Cash ISA product, which allowed it to take the award for 'Best Cash ISA Provider'
