2007 LOS ANGELES OPEN 2020 CRICKET TOURNAMENT WELCOMES WORLD CLASS PLAYERS FROM JULY 13-15, 2007
LA Open 20/20 cricket tournament, one of its kind and the premier cricket tournament is being held in Los Angeles, CA. Many international star cricketers will be visiting to participate to win this tournament with prize money in excess of US$ 40,000.00

    /24-7PressRelease/ - LOS ANGELES, CA, June 24, 2007 - The 5th Annual 2007 Los Angeles Open 20/20 Cricket Tournament, widely recognized as the "Premier Cricket Tournament in the United States," is getting prepared for cricket action in Southern California July 13 through July 15.

The 2007 LA Open tournament will host top international teams and players from India, New South Wales, Trinidad & Tobago and throughout the United States. Last year, 12 teams from around the world, brimming with talent, participated in the lively 20/20 matches. Some of the teams include:

• New South Wales: A team comprising of 14 marquee players with four to five former Australian players.
• Trinidad & Tobago: Having participated all four years, they will be assembling a team four to five players who have played for the West Indies in the past year and four current West Indies A players will participate.
• A team from India being led by former India Captain Mr. Mohammad Azharuddin will also be participating. Former India players like Mr. Nikhil Chopra & Mr. Rohan Gavaskar and current Mumbai and Bengal Ranji Trophy players are going to play for this team.
• Punjab Blues consisting of several International cricketers like Richie Richardson, Stuart Willams and several others are going to attend.

The 2007 LA Open will take place at Woodley Park Cricket Fields in Van Nuys, California. This site offers four international class cricket fields in one centralized location. Admission to the tournament at the event will be free of charge to the public.

In its four-year history, the tournament has featured many record-breaking performances. In past years, the LA Open has seen an average of almost 200 runs scored in each 20-over innings, creating great excitement and entertainment for spectators and attendees. "There is no other place in the U.S. where you get to see some of the world's leading cricket players, assembled in one location, playing fast-paced cricket for three days," says Kamal Doshi, one of the LA Open organizers. For those not familiar with cricket activities in United States, there are currently over 9,000 cricketers, many of whom have played international and first class cricket for their home countries, now residing and playing in the U.S.
