Surgeon Marks 1-Year Anniversary of CoolSculpting in Los Angeles

Early last year, Marina Plastic Surgery Associates added CoolSculpting by ZELTIQ to its list of body contouring options for Los Angeles area women and men. Over the past year, the procedure has seen increasing interest for its slimming results.

MARINA DEL REY, CA, March 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Just over a year ago, Marina Plastic Surgery Associates (http://www.liposuction-southern-california.com) began offering CoolSculpting, a revolutionary body contouring treatment that requires no surgery and no downtime. Women and men who want to truly get slim with body contouring and liposuction in Los Angeles continue to choose the practice for satisfying results.

At the practice, Dr. Grant Stevens has performed CoolSculpting treatments for their patients. The procedure works by cooling fat to a temperature just above freezing while protecting surrounding tissue. The cooled fat cells are damaged and are removed by the body's natural cleansing process over the weeks and months following treatment.

"This is an ideal treatment for people who have been thinking about lipo in Los Angeles but don't like the idea of a surgical procedure," explains Dr. Stevens, a board-certified plastic surgeon. "Liposuction remains one of the most popular cosmetic procedures at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates, but we're seeing more and more interest in CoolSculpting as people hear about the results that are possible."

Marina Plastic Surgery Associates was among one of the first practices in the U.S. to offer CoolSculpting. The practice has a long history of being early adopters of advanced aesthetic medical equipment, and just recently added Exilis, a radiofrequency technology for body slimming and skin tightening.

"Having just celebrated our one-year anniversary with CoolSculpting, I can attest to the fact that the treatment can deliver real results," says Dr. Stevens. "The trick with CoolSculpting - and what patients need to keep in mind - is that the fat reduction it achieves occurs over time, so the results may not seem as dramatic as they really are. That's one of the reasons why we take photos of each patient prior to treatment and several months down the road: to show the slimmer contours they've achieved."

Like any body contouring procedure, CoolSculpting is best used for diet- and exercise-resistant areas of fat. Common treatment areas include the "love handles," back, and abdomen. To determine candidacy for a CoolSculpting procedure, each patient at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates receives a consultation where current "trouble spots" are examined and the patient's desired goals are discussed.

"If a person is eating healthy and exercising regularly, but still not seeing the body contour they want, I encourage them to schedule a visit to our office to learn more about CoolSculpting and the other body sculpting procedures we offer, including abdominoplasty and ultrasonic liposuction in Los Angeles," adds Dr. Stevens. "Through that consultation visit, we can discuss the full range of options and find the treatments that can deliver on the patient's goals."

At Marina Plastic Surgery Associates (http://www.liposuction-southern-california.com), board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Grant Stevens offers innovative plastic surgery procedures including breast augmentation, face lifts, and abdominoplasty. After earning his medical degree with honors from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Dr. Stevens trained extensively in both general and plastic surgery before establishing his successful Los Angeles plastic surgery practice. Dr. Stevens has published extensively in clinical research publications showcasing some of the latest developments in plastic surgery procedures, and has gained recognition as a pioneer in new techniques for procedures including liposuction and breast reduction.
