inABLE- A Charity for the Blind in Africa- Seeks Supporters to Win April GlobalGiving Open Challenge

inABLE shares hope and opportunity by bringing life changing, computer-based educational tools to Africa's blind and visually impaired students. Help inABLE win the GlobalGiving.com April 2011 Open Challenge.

ATLANTA, GA, April 15, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Atlanta-based inABLE races to earn a permanent spot on the GlobalGiving website by mobilizing at least 50 unique donors before the end of April to raise $4,000. Help inABLE win this challenge at http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/computer-labs-for-the-blind.

inABLE shares hope and opportunity by bringing life changing, computer-based educational tools to Africa's blind and visually impaired students. The seed of inspiration behind inABLE was planted in 2008 when Atlanta resident Irene Mbari-Kirika traveled back to her native country Kenya and encountered an engaging group of blind students whose educational advancement and employment prospects were extremely limited due to insufficient educational resources and nonexistent assistive computer technology.

"We are grateful that GlobalGiving.org has given us this opportunity to reach out to their network and ours to win this Open Challenge and a permanent web presence on Global Giving.com," notes Ms. Mbari-Kirika.

Through this online Open Challenge, GlobalGiving is sharing access to its online donation technology and donor network to help inABLE reach their fundraising goals: InABLE is reaching out to new sponsors and generous contributors to donate whatever they can to buy computers, software, desks, chairs, technical support, instructors and more.

The GlobalGiving Open Challenge participants may raise funds through the Globalgiving.org online shopping site from April 1st - April 30th, 2011. The three projects that raise the most will receive awards of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000, respectively; the project receiving the most individual donations will receive an additional $3,000.

If inABLE wins, it will also gain free access to innovative web 2.0 fundraising tools that can be used to connect with a broad network of donors and foundation partners already engaged in the GlobalGiving network.
