Los Angeles Cosmetic Surgeon Notes Increase in Plastic Surgery Patients

In line with the nearly 10 percent increase in plastic surgery procedures across the country from 2009 to 2010, Dr. Grant Stevens is noticing a rise in cosmetic surgery in Los Angles at his practice, Marina Plastic Surgery Associates.

MARINA DEL REY, CA, May 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Grant Stevens of Marina Plastic Surgery Associates (www.marinaplasticsurgery.com) says he is seeing an increased number of patients for many of the procedures offered at his Los Angeles plastic surgery practice. This observation is in line with national statistics recently released by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), which reveal a 9% gain in cosmetic procedures in 2010 compared to 2009.

"The national trend seen over the past year has been reflected at my practice, with body contouring and breast augmentation leading the way," says Dr. Stevens, who also serves as chairman of the media relations committee of the ASAPS. "As the economy improves, more and more people are feeling confident in improving their appearance and investing in themselves."

Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon Dr. Stevens says that many people are also considering noninvasive alternatives to surgery. His medical day spa, The Stevens Institute, offers a complete line of skin care treatments and products to help people who want to achieve immediate results, while avoiding the recovery period often associated with cosmetic surgery.

BOTOX Cosmetic is one of the most popular services offered at The Institute. "BOTOX treatments provide a proven way for my patients to decrease early signs of aging," Dr. Stevens notes. "In just 15 minutes, they can complete their treatments and get ready to see smoother skin for the next 4 to 6 months. The Institute also offers other injectables like JUVEDERM, and skin care treatments including chemical peels and Fraxel."

Marina Plastic Surgery Associates offers a number of Los Angeles cosmetic surgery procedures as well. "Women and men come to us from throughout California and across the globe for procedures including breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tucks and face lifts," says Dr. Stevens. "Regardless of the procedure being performed, our objective is always the same: we work as hard as we can to help women and men achieve their cosmetic goals."

While 2011 is already well underway, it's too soon to tell how many cosmetic procedures will be performed in the coming year. Some have speculated that as the economy improves, the market for cosmetic surgery and medical spa treatments will continue to expand, particularly due to the growing acceptance of cosmetic procedures among young and old alike. "Of course we never know what the future holds," adds Dr. Stevens, "but I'm excited to see how many people chose our practice over the past year and look forward to helping many more patients in the year ahead."

At Marina Plastic Surgery Associates (www.marinaplasticsurgery.com), board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Grant Stevens offers innovative plastic surgery procedures including breast augmentation, face lifts, and abdominoplasty. After earning his medical degree with honors from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Dr. Stevens trained extensively in both general and plastic surgery before establishing his successful Los Angeles plastic surgery practice. Dr. Stevens has published extensively in clinical research publications showcasing some of the latest developments in plastic surgery procedures, and has gained recognition as a pioneer in new techniques for procedures including breast reduction.
