Bamboo Fencer's Bamboo Friendly Fences Bring Natural Style and Privacy to Rooftop Spaces

CAMBRIDGE, MA, July 11, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bamboo Fencer--www.bamboofencer.com--recommends its line of inexpensive Bamboo Friendly Fences as an easy to install improvement to rooftop outdoor spaces that adds style and privacy. Rooftop decks offer city dwellers spectacular skyline views and provide an ideal urban escape for relaxing and entertaining. But often these coveted urban spaces are usually only closed in by bare steel railings that offer little in the way of ambiance or privacy. Using these existing railings as a support structure makes for an easy installation of the Bamboo Friendly Fence that immediately brings privacy and the beautiful natural style of bamboo to rooftop spaces.

At a recent Dinner Series dinner party in Charlestown, Massachusetts, Bamboo Fencer installed 4 ft. Mahogany Bamboo Friendly Fences on a rooftop deck to create an intimate and organic space for entertaining complementary to the deck's Barlow Tyrie Equinox outdoor furniture.

Installing the Bamboo Friendly Fence
Bamboo Fencer's Bamboo Friendly Fences are easily installed by non-professionals by attaching them to the existing railing structure with plastic zip ties. Position the Bamboo Friendly Fence roll in front of the railing and unroll two or three feet at a time. Firmly hold the fence upright as it is unrolled and pass zip ties around the bamboo and the railing to a helper positioned on the opposite side of the railing. Have them tighten each tie snugly against the railing and cut off the excess.

Ideally, the Bamboo Friendly Fence is secured to two rails, one on the top and one on the bottom. A zip tie every 8-12" on both railings will hold the fence securely in place. If the layout of the rooftop doesn't allow or makes it unsafe for someone to be on the other side of the railing, the zip ties may be tightened and trimmed on the same side of the railing as the fence is unrolled on. Bamboo Fencer recommends that the zip ties are checked once a year and that those that break or wear considerably are replaced.

Choosing a Bamboo Friendly Fence
Bamboo Fencer's Bamboo Friendly Fences are available in three bamboo diameters; 3/4 in., 1 in., and 2 in and a variety of heights. Bamboo Fencer recommends choosing a fence no more than 30 in. higher than your existing railings to ensure that it is properly supported. Four and five foot heights are better suited to rooftop spaces as they are not tall enough to obstruct views or make the space feel closed in.

Bamboo Friendly Fences come in three colors; natural, black, and mahogany. The natural fence has the traditional organic look, while the darker Mahogany and Black Bamboo Friendly Fences exude a more contemporary style.
