The line up of activities includes historical film screenings, heritage walks, and presentations on the Victorian architecture. Guides will be on hand to lead people around the significant historical landmarks and villages while open days will also give people unique access to buildings during the occasion. The event will also delve into the heritage with interactive displays, lectures and tours that will allow people to really get to know about the city.

Previous editions of the festival have been a colourful spectacle with fashion shows and models wearing the vintage clothing designs from different eras. Market stalls selling clothing, foods and other goods will also be set up so that people can visualise and even taste a piece of history.

The programme of events will be spread over 17th September until 2nd October 2011 and during the two weeks cheap Auckland hotels are due to become especially busy.
