HGTV Star Vern Yip to Appear at 2011 BEST of Fall Home Show

    COLUMBUS, OH, August 17, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- HGTV star and interior designer Vern Yip will bring his home improvement star power to Columbus when he appears at the BEST of Fall Home Show, presented by Rosati Windows. Yip headlines the show's stellar talent lineup, appearing Sunday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. on the Home Idea Center Stage. Yip will answer audience questions and follow his appearance with an autograph session. Show guests will not only gather great interior design ideas from Yip, but they'll hear stories from behind the scenes of his many TV shows, including "Design Star," "HGTV Urban Oasis," "Deserving Design" and others.

Yip blasted onto the home improvement TV scene as one of the original designers on TLC's home design show "Trading Spaces." He's now one of the most well-known and popular stars of HGTV. He has kicked off such shows as "HGTV's Summer Showdown" as one of the show's competitors. He also hosted "Deserving Design" and continues to serve as a judge on HGTV's highly rated reality show, "Design Star," where the network's next big celebrity designer is discovered.

An award-winning interior designer based in Atlanta, Yip has been featured on "Today," "The Early Show," "Live with Regis and Kelly" and "Oprah." He's known for his uncluttered designs and his ability to make over a room, even with limited dollars (though he also works with high-end clients, multi-million-dollar budgets and has even designed mega-buck Oscar party scenes).

Regardless of the budget, Yip's calling card is his attention to detail and precise, clean-lined interiors, balanced with a sense of warmth. His designs often demonstrate a "less is more" approach, though something in the room always pops because of its graphic nature. Many elements of his creations and eclectic style demonstrate an influence from childhood travels throughout Asia, Latin America and Europe.

The BEST of Fall Home Show, in partnership with Ohio Mulch and Granite Transformations, opens Friday, Sept. 9, and runs through Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Ohio Expo Center. Show hours are Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guests can stop by any Kroger location after Aug. 15 to receive complimentary tickets for themselves, their family and their friends.
