/24-7PressRelease/ -- If the 60,000 lights strung from tree to tree, illuminating the banks of the San Marcos River wasn't extravagant enough, this family-friendly, three-day festival features activities for all ages, from marketplace shopping and carnival rides to holiday entertainment and tasty treats.
The Texas Marketplace features over 50 artisans from across the state that offer eclectic, one-of-a-kind gifts, perfect for that someone who has it all. Discover unique hand-made crafts, home-grown favorites, sterling silver, wire art, furniture and plenty of Christmas d cor.
For the kiddos, Sights and Sounds of Christmas offers many fantastical activities such as the live nativity scene and petting zoo, sock-skating, carnival rides, Santa's River House and the Sugar Plum Theater, featuring magician and puppet shows.
Live entertainment of all sounds and styles will perform throughout the three days, including Sahawe Indian Dancers, Choirs of Angels, cloggers, drumlines, jazz bands as well as Mariachi groups.
Come hungry and treat your taste buds to delightful holiday goodies and Texas specialties such as freshly baked cookies and treats, chocolate confections, sausage-on-a-stick, fresh tacos, juicy burgers and melt-in-your-mouth funnel cakes. These are just a few of the many delicious foods that will be presented.
Festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will end at 10:30 p.m. Admission is free of charge, and free parking and shuttle service will be available at Strahan Coliseum parking lot.
