Displaysense: Clothes Rail Used as Gym Equipment

Displaysense - the UK's leading shop displays and fittings supplier - has revealed that one of its customers has come up with an innovative use for one of its heavy-duty clothes rails.

HERTFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND, August 24, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Although these pieces of equipment are designed to withstand tough retail conditions, one client has found a new way to put the rail's durability to the test.

The company received feedback from one of its customers stating that he has started using it as a pull-up bar in his home gym.

Steve Whittle, marketing director at Displaysense, comments: "We have always had full belief that our heavy-duty garment rails are the strongest on the market and although this feedback was unexpected, this review from our customer really is a testament to their durability."

However, he points out that although the garment rails may be strong enough to support the weight of a person, they are not advising other people to follow this customer's lead and use them as gym equipment.

"We have received numerous positive reviews that justify our belief that our rails are the most durable around, but they were not designed to be used as part of a fitness regime. Whilst we admire our client's creativity, we would encourage our customers to only use them as rails for garments," Mr Whittle adds.

But he notes that an increasing number of domestic consumers are turning to Displaysense to find clothes rails that can stand up to the challenge of day-to-day use.

Retail customers account for the majority of the company's shop fittings sales; however, other people are beginning to realise the benefits of introducing stronger rails into their homes as opposed to the cheaper and weaker models available on the high street.

Mr Whittle reveals that he has had personal experience of a sub-standard clothes rail not meeting his needs.

"I know myself what it can be like to have a problem with this kind of fitting. When I moved home a few years ago, I bought cheap and that's what I got. I could only use half the rail because it couldn't take the weight and I found it collapsed when I returned home from work."

He explains that this kind of occurrence may be one of the reasons customers are contacting the firm for fixtures for their homes.

"Our rails are designed for heavy loads in a retail environment and this strength gives general home users the confidence that they are getting a rail that will stand the test of time and not simply buckle when it is overloaded," Mr Whittle concludes.
