Cameron Village Announces Playhouse Parade

    RALEIGH, NC, September 24, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cameron Village Shopping Center announces PLAYHOUSE PARADE, a month long event in October 2011, to raise funds for an all access children's playground in Raleigh. The event will feature a dozen whimsical, creative playhouses. Presenting sponsors are Regency Centers, owners of Cameron Village Shopping Center and Gallery at Cameron Village. Gallery at Cameron Village is a new residential development on the western border of Cameron Village.

Local builders, designers, architects, and businesses have worked together to create fanciful designs to intrigue young and old alike. Among the dozen designs are:
- a castle, sponsored by Bailey's Fine Jewelry, using their distinctive color scheme and featuring "crown jewels,"
- Palm Paradise, a garden cottage with interiors by Palm Avenue, A Lilly Pulitzer Via Store, that features the bright colors and graphic patterns of Lilly, and
- an astonishing pirate ship with thundering water cannons.

Two fun-filled weekends are scheduled with music, activities, and entertainment and the opportunity to tour the playhouses. Playhouses will be situated throughout Cameron Village beginning October 4. Some structures are specifically for adults such as the motorcycle workshop, the potting shed and garden getaway. Each playhouse is complete and will sell at auction with all accessories included.

A gala evening event, A Night Under the Stars, will be held October 22 and will feature live auctions for the one-of-a-kind playhouses. http://sassafrasplay.org/playhouse

Sat., Oct. 8 and Oct. 15 - Come Play with Me Weekends
11am - 5pm - Tours of custom-built playhouses, activities, magicians, entertainment, games, FREE to the public.

Sundays, Oct 9 & 16 - Tours Only

Oct. 22, Saturday - A Night Under the Stars Playhouse - 7pm - Parade Gala and Auction

Tickets are $50 per person.
