Dubuque Dentist Offers Patients New Procedure for Advanced Dental Care

Dr. Heyo Tjarks, dentist in Dubuque, IA, increases patient satisfaction with the introduction of new dental technology.

DUBUQUE, IA, September 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Heyo Tjarks, Dubuque dentist, is pleased to announce the recent addition of new technology for enhanced procedures at Dubuque Dental Associates. Patients can now visit Dubuque Dental Associates to restore their damaged teeth with dental crowns in one easy visit with CEREC.

Since 1985 CEREC by Sirona has remained the preferred CAD/CAM technology of dentists worldwide for the fabrication of all ceramic dental restorations in a single appointment. CEREC is proven by hundreds of clinical studies and is offered by thousands of dentists to millions of patients around the world every year.

"It is important that our patients receive the best care available and that means providing up-to-date technology and procedures. With CEREC, patients can cap off their damaged tooth in one easy visit making treatment a breeze," said Dr. Heyo Tjarks, dentist in Dubuque, IA.

Most dental restoration procedures require more than one visit to the dentist. This means that on the first visit, patients get an injection of anesthesia, the tooth is prepared, and impression is taken and a temporary restoration is placed on the tooth. At the second appointment, a couple weeks later, patients would make a second appointment for another injection, to have the temporary removed and the permanent restoration placed.

CEREC allows patients to receive Dubuque crowns in a single appointment, start to finish. First, an infrared photo is taken of the patient's tooth. Using the software provided by CEREC, Dr. Tjarks is able to design a crown using 3D imaging. This information is sent to the milling machine via wireless or direct wired transmission. The block of CEREC porcelain is then put in the milling machine and with the press of a button, the machine can make the crown in 10-15 minutes. When the crown is completed, Dr. Tjarks will permanently cement the crown in place with strong dental cement.

Patients can receive a natural-looking crown made in one easy visit with no messy impressions, no temporary crowns, and less dental anesthesia with CEREC. The addition of CEREC to Dubuque Dental Associates, Dubuque, IA dentist, is further proof of Dr. Heyo Tjarks' continual commitment to providing patients with optimal dental health care.
