Dubuque Dentist Offers Patients New Procedure for Advanced Dental Care

Most dental restoration procedures require more than one visit to the dentist. This means that on the first visit, patients get an injection of anesthesia, the tooth is prepared, and impression is taken and a temporary restoration is placed on the tooth. At the second appointment, a couple weeks later, patients would make a second appointment for another injection, to have the temporary removed and the permanent restoration placed.

The block of CEREC porcelain is then put in the milling machine and with the press of a button, the machine can make the crown in 10-15 minutes. When the crown is completed, Dr. Tjarks will permanently cement the crown in place with strong dental cement.

After graduating from the University of Iowa Dental College, Dr. Tjarks served two years in the Army as a dentist.
