Phoenix Import LEGIONS IN EXILE Makes Highly Anticipated Los Angeles Debut Valentines Day at the Roxy

Powerhouse Front Man and Poet Alloy Kenneth Leaves the Death Metal Mask Behind in a Bold Return to Punk Metal Roots

/24-7PressRelease/ - LOS ANGELES, CA, February 07, 2007 -- In a concert aptly coined the "Valentines Day Massacre" at the Roxy Theater on Feb. 14 at 8:00 P.M., Angelinos can witness what many are calling a scorching, no-nonsense brand of mojo which is fueling the rapid rise of the newly formed Legions In Exile (L.I.E). The crossover punk metal band's members clearly relish a stark, back-to-basics approach augmented by their own authoritative vision. After years of flaming the reputations of other bands, Alloy Kenneth (lead singer, songwriter and guitarist), Roger Armstrong (drummer) and Louie Ingram (base and vocals) form the L.I.E. line-up of veteran musicians who compliment Kenneth's inspired, often poetic lyrics, which can actually be heard above the band's blistering fusion. L.I.E.'s set begins at approximately 8:45 P.M. at the Roxy Theater located at 9009 W. Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90069. Phone: 310-278-9457. Tickets are $10.00 at the door. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. or visit www.theroxyonsunset.com

Feb. 2006 was the starting point for L.I.E. brought to life by Kenneth, formerly of the death metal band, Eroticide. With a long list of words and riffs, he was driven to form a group similar to punk metal bands of the mid-eighties and early nineties such as Dirty Rotten Imbeciles and Corrosion of Conformity. From his home in Phoenix, Kenneth, who says he was influenced by the Ramones and guitarists Robin Trower and Jimmy Page elaborates, "I wanted to get back to a raw sound with no gimmicks; I'm tired of being somebody else's workhorse and tired of seeing things not go the way I think they should." Kenneth also confessed that a line from a movie he saw years earlier became an increasingly painful thorn in his side: "'When you step out of the light to let someone else shine, the world becomes a darker place."

In putting together L.I.E's core members, Kenneth met Ingram in the underground metal community in Phoenix, and after years apart, Kenneth rejoined with his close friend and collaborator, Roger Armstrong, formerly of the iconoclastic Japanese punk rock band S.I.C., and the sound for L.I.E. was complete.

As to the true genesis and goals of Kenneth's brainchild, perhaps he summed it up best when saying, "Legions in Exile is not just a band, it's twenty years of silence unleashed."
