Aptamil Experts to Offer Advice on Facebook andTwitter

Aptamil has joined Facebook and Twitter in a bid to offer more mums and mums-to-be easy access to feeding and nutritional advice from their team of experts.

WILTSHIRE, ENGLAND, October 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Worldwide baby nutrition specialist, Aptamil, has joined Facebook and Twitter in response to their audience's growing interaction with social media sites and their avid use of the Internet via smartphones. Their presence in these online spaces will enable them to offer more mums and mums-to-be access to their team of experts for one-to-one advice and support throughout pregnancy and parenthood.

The Aptamil experts, who are predominantly mums themselves and including midwives and healthcare professionals, already provide support and advice to countless mums every month by phone, email or via the Aptamil website. The leap into social media gives them the opportunity to reach even more mums in places they already visit and offers two new and convenient ways to find the answers to their pregnancy and parenting questions.

Many mums and mums-to-be use Facebook as a means of finding out information from conversations with friends and like minded others. The Aptamil Facebook page positively encourages this sort of engagement with other mums as a means of sharing pregnancy and parenting experiences whilst offering the additional benefit of being able to post questions to the Aptamil experts via the wall.

In addition to this, Aptamil's new presence on Twitter gives mums the opportunity to receive pregnancy or parenting updates and advice, relevant to their stage in development, direct to their smartphone. From pregnancy diet advice to successful breastfeeding tips, each Tweet offers reassuring guidance from an expert along with the chance for mums to add their own comments and advice.

This form of learning, through shared experiences combined with expert support, aims to bring a new and invaluable source of practical advice and information to the parenting arena.

While Facebook and Twitter are new additions to Aptamil's online presence, they are by no means strangers to the internet. The Aptamil baby club has been offering support and advice during pregnancy and beyond for some time now with 194,611 members who are pregnant or have babies up to two years in age. Members benefit from expert advice plus support from other mums in online forums along with a comprehensive eCRM program and print collateral at key milestone dates throughout pregnancy.

In all, the new additions to the Aptamil digital family will help provide easy ways for mums to get all the information and answers they need to help them give their babies a healthy start in life.

Aptamil has been pioneering research into infant nutrition for over 50 years and has gained a level of knowledge and expertise they are proud to share. With around 300 scientists worldwide, dedicated to research in infant nutrition, as well as a team of experts here in the UK, Aptamil is committed to providing the best support for babies and toddlers and strives to continue doing this in every possible way.
