Flint Dentist Celebrates 17 Years of Experience in Dentistry

    FLINT, MI, November 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After 17 years of experience in dentistry Dr. Scott Pelok, Flint dentist, is honored to continue to treat his patients with quality dental health care. Dr. Pelok graduated from the Ohio State University School of Dentistry in 1994 and completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education for General Dentistry at the University of Michigan in 1995 where he also completed his requirements for conscious (IV) sedation.

Dr. Pelok, general dentist in Flint, after five years as an associate in a practice in Vermont, returned to the University of Michigan where he taught oral surgery and CEREC techniques in the same department in which he received his residency, AEGD. At that time, he was also in charge of the undergraduate implant course and the international dental courses.

"For 17 years I have gained valuable dental health care experience, 10 of which I have had the privilege of teaching at the University of Michigan. It is always a pleasure to be able to share my knowledge of dentistry with the future dentists of our country. After years of teaching our talented youth, it has been a joy returning to private practice to help my patients gain the smile they have always desired," said Dr. Scott Pelok of Pelok Dental, family dentistry in Flint.

While teaching at the University of Michigan, Dr. Pelok won the Smithsonian Computer World Award in 2002 for his development of new technologies for educating dental anatomy. During his tenure at the University, he also wrote several articles and presented at a multitude of meetings on technology in dentistry and utilization of CEREC in the dental office.

After 10 years of teaching at the University of Michigan, Dr. Pelok, dentist in Flushing, returned to take over a private practice to provide quality care to his patients of all ages in the Flint and Flushing, MI areas. By returning to private practice he replaced Dr. Janice Pilon in Flint, Michigan.

Additionally, in August of 2011 Dr. Scott Pelok received the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). The Fellowship award is presented to dentists who seek to provide the highest quality of dental care by remaining current in their profession. To accomplish this goal, Dr. Pelok, Flushing dentist, completed 500 hours of continuing dental education, passed a comprehensive exam and fulfilled three years of continuous membership in the AGD.
