S5 Marketing Explores the Future for Non-Graduates

S5 Marketing an outsourced sales and marketing firm in Birmingham review university drop-out statistics and considers what future opportunities could be in store for those without higher education.

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND, November 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Society strongly encourages young adults to pursue university degrees and gain qualifications. S5 Marketing is intrigued by individuals who have a high ambition level and visions of success but choose not to gain higher education. As employment rates of graduates have not improved throughout 2011 many people enter opportunities in the work force that are not graduate positions. Many feel disappointed that their degree has not given them the advantage over less qualified individuals. S5 Marketing has seen an increase in graduates through its doors who have been struggling to find work even 12 months after graduating.

Managing director at S5 Marketing, Ben Lambert, decided not to complete a degree after completing A-levels and instead took a job to gain more practical experience. "When I was 18 and I left college, I never thought that 10 years later I would own my own company. This was because I was not the brightest kid, I was always more arty and creative and really just wanted to work hard and save lots of money. I'm a massive traveller, so the plan was to explore the world. I achieved this goal, but then wanted more. I wanted financial freedom. Reading the stories of people such as Steve Jobs, Richard Branson and Bill Gates made me so ambitious to prove to other and myself that I could achieve more."

S5 Marketing trade with a really diverse group of individuals and Managing Director Ben Lambert attributes this to looking at individuals abilities, visions or goals and work ethic. Some of the most influential people in the world were college or university drop outs. Bill Gates, has an estimated worth $58 billion; he left Harvard university without a degree to set up Microsoft. He is now thought to be the richest man in the world. Another university drop out is Mark Zuckberg, now estimated to be worth $17.5 billion, after inventing the social network site Facebook. Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin, left school at 16.

The future is not all doom and gloom for those who do not complete higher education. Ben Lambert at S5 Marketing suggests having a great attitude towards gaining experience, a great work ethic and ambition will eventuate in success.
