Winter Wonderland Kicks Off the Holiday Season in Style

L. Ron Hubbard's Winter Wonderland opens full of holiday cheer for the families and visitors of Hollywood.

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 08, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Santa Claus has arrived to Hollywood! Winter Wonderland kicked off the season with the 80th anniversary of the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Free entertainment was organized for the community and parade attendees including Emmy Award Winning recording artist Antonio de Carlo, movie star Miguel Angel Rodriguez, and children's songs and dance from the Cri Cri Club amongst many others. Once the parade started, Latin television entertainer Suliana Gonzalez and movie and TV actor Gino Montesinos (SpongeBob SquarePants Movie) hosted the event.

As part of the festivities, over 1000 children from charitable organizations were hosted at Winter Wonderland, including the Vista Del Mar Orphanage, Youth Justice Coalition, Lula Washington Dance Theater, Troy's Project for Humanity, the Covenant House California, Ettie Lee Orphanage and Casa Esperanza Group Home. Santa Claus was there to greet the children.

Winter Wonderland has now become a Hollywood tradition bringing a message of peace and joy to tens of thousands of Angelenos and visitors alike during the holiday season. Twenty-eight years ago, writer and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard donated the first giant Christmas tree to the children of Hollywood, a tradition that has been continued every holiday season by the Friends of L. Ron Hubbard.

L. Ron Hubbard's Winter Wonderland has become a holiday destination that families return to year after year - parents who came to visit and take a photo with Santa when they were youngsters are now bringing their own children to see and take photos with St. Nick. A local neighbor said that he has been coming every year for 20 years and has created a collection of his photos with Santa! All in the spirit of Christmas. The set is so beautifully decorated that many visitors use photos taken there for their personal Christmas cards.

Winter Wonderland is now open daily, weekdays from 5pm to 10pm and weekends from 2pm to 10pm. Free shows are also put on during the weekdays and weekends; stop by, you never know who you might get to see! The free entertainment will continue all month long. All are welcome to come and can enjoy Santa's house and a towering 60' Christmas Tree surrounded by snowy hills and smaller trees, all lit in bright holiday colors.
