San Diego Divorce Lawyer Obtains Victory in Highly Contested Child Custody Case

San Diego Divorce Lawyer John Griffith of Griffith & Young obtains family court orders granting custody rights to a parent falsely accused of child abuse and alcoholism.

SAN DIEGO, CA, March 10, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On February 23, 2012, Attorney John Griffith of Griffith & Young obtained favorable child custody orders from a San Diego Family Court judge in a highly contested divorce case involving the custody of two minor children.

The other parent in the case made false allegations of child abuse, accusing the mother of being an alcoholic and requesting that the court order supervised visitation between the mother and her children. Over the course of three months several court hearings were held and the family law judge interviewed one of the children in open court. The mother adamantly denies the allegations of child abuse and voluntarily submitted to random urine tests and a psychological evaluation to prove that she was not an alcoholic. Attorney Griffith was able to present the evidence obtained from these tests and reports at the child custody hearing.

At the last hearing on child custody, the court agreed with attorney Griffith that the children appeared to have been coached and that there was no reason for the mother not to have unsupervised visits. The court also ordered a partial child custody evaluation by a qualified psychiatrist. "Justice was served by the court in this case today. It is sad that my client had to endure the cost and emotional pain of this nasty custody battle, but the ruling goes to show that given enough effort, the truth does come out." The father in the case was ordered to pay for the fees associated with the upcoming child custody evaluation.

The next court hearing will deal with the issues of child support, spousal support, and contribution of attorney's fees.

This San Diego divorce case is sure to go on for quite some time as the financial aspects of the divorce have not yet been discussed or determined. However, the mother in this case is well on her way to fixing the damage caused in this case by the misrepresentations made by the father at the start of the case.
