BOSTON, MA, April 27, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As a respite from the predictable sameness of today's high-speed, mass-produced world, Boston's acclaimed North Bennet Street School (http://www.nbss.edu) has organized an exhibit that showcases unique and extraordinary objects made by craftsmen and craftswomen trained at the school.

"Made by Hand: a celebration of exceptional work from the North Bennet Street School" includes dozens of one-of-a-kind objects painstakingly hand-crafted by the school's students and alumni - from elegant furniture and musical instruments to exquisite jewelry and ornate hand-bound books.

The show is open to the public from Monday, May 7 through Friday May 18, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, in the main lobby of 125 High Street, a soaring office tower in the heart of Boston's financial district. Admission is free.

On Tuesday, May 8, a gala fundraising reception to celebrate the work and meet the makers will be held in the exhibition space. Admission to the cocktails and hors d'oeuvres reception is $150 per person with proceeds going to benefit the school's scholarship fund. Tickets to the event may be purchased online at https://www.nbss.edu/giving/annualevening.aspx or by calling 617-227-0155.
