Hocking Hills Volunteer Vacations Offer Unique Traveler Experience, Opportunity to Give Back

The Hocking Hills Tourism Association has partnered with the staff and Friends of Hocking Hills and Lake Hope State Parks to create Hocking Hills Volunteer Vacations.



    LOGAN, OH, May 03, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Hocking Hills Tourism Association has partnered with the staff and Friends of Hocking Hills and Lake Hope State Parks to create Hocking Hills Volunteer Vacations. The trips allow visitors to enjoy a richer experience in Ohio's spectacular Hocking Hills, while helping to preserve one of the Midwest's most cherished natural resources. Travelers will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with trained park naturalists and local experts in natural resource stewardship at both Lake Hope and Hocking Hills State Parks.

Volunteer travelers are asked to sign up for the volunteer opportunity of their choice by emailing [email protected] or calling (877) 403-4477. A different volunteer activity will be offered one Saturday each month, with the following schedule:
- April 14: Beautification day, featuring installing decorative plantings at Lake Hope State Park
- May 19: Beautification day, featuring installing decorative plantings at Hocking Hills State Park
- June 23: Hocking Hills State Park Trail Improvements and Maintenance
- July 21: Lake Hope State Park, Trail Improvements and Maintenance
- Aug. 11: Improvements to the Hocking Hills State Park Archery Range
- Sept. 15: Hocking Hills State Park Trail Improvements
- Oct. 6: Lake Hope State Park Trail Improvements
- Nov. 17: Assisting with Holiday special events
