Never Tilt Your Head at the Library or Bookstore Again with ShelfLook, Azymous Interactive's New iPhone App

Azymous Interactive announces the release of ShelfLook, a useful and unique new iPhone app that lets users look at bookstore and library shelves without twisting their necks or bending downwards to read book titles.

APOPKA, FL, May 11, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patrons tilting heads and crouching up and down at libraries and bookstores are a familiar sight. Azymous Interactive's new ShelfLook iPhone app may change that landscape forever, as users no longer have to bend or twist to view book titles.

Using ShelfLook is exceptionally simple. Users just launch the ShelfLook app, hold the iPhone horizontally, and look through the screen. Book titles that were once hard to read are now easily read horizontally on the screen. For low light environments, ShelfLook conveniently provides enhanced lighting at the push of a button.

When viewing lower shelves, rather than crouching down, users can remain comfortably standing by simply pushing the record button and panning the iPhone across the lower shelf. When ready, they can play back a video of the book titles, horizontally displayed and easy to read.

ShelfLook was inspired when Azymous Interactive founder, David Kahan, suffering from a pinched nerve in his neck, went book shopping with his family at the local book store. The uncomfortable experience, coupled with low lighting, gave birth to the idea of ShelfLook. "I had often commented to my wife how inconvenient it is the way books are displayed on shelves at the library or bookstores. That night the answer finally popped into my mind," said Kahan, an avid book reader and software engineer. Kahan, who describes himself as "sort of a duct tape renaissance man", quickly went to work designing ShelfLook.

ShelfLook is a great convenience for anyone looking through bookstore and library shelves, and is particularly helpful for the elderly or those with physical limitations. Mary Anne Hodel, Director and CEO of the Orange County Florida Library System, says ShelfLook is "very helpful for anyone trying to read titles on shelves. And it can be particularly helpful for those with disabilities."
