For Some, Holding a Guinness World Record Isn't Enough!

Perry Prichard, Guinness World Record holder for riding a motocross bike for 24 hours straight, plans to do something crazy again. The idea this time is to ride 1000 miles in 24 hours!

KNOXVILLE, TN, May 16, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- From the moment Prichard visited Haiti the very first time, he was hooked. It became his goal to do as much as he could for the country and its people. 24 Hours for Haiti is his dream child and the first event was conducted following the devastating earthquake of 2010. At that time, Prichard set a Guinness World Record by being the first person to ride a motocross bike for 24 hours straight on a much less than cooperative motocross course! The event, with the assistance of an anonymous private philanthropist that matched all donations dollar for dollar, raised more than $20,000. That money went to aid in the construction of the NEW Village of Hope Medical Center in Ganthier, Haiti. It was also used to provide assistance to many of the developmentally and physically handicapped children at the Little Children of Jesus Orphanage that Prichard visits each time he travels to Haiti.

You may be asking why 24 Hours for Haiti 2012 is being held. Despite all the efforts to help rebuild the country, the needs are still great. This 2012 event is part of the ongoing passion that drives Prichard to help the people he has met and befriended in this devastated country. 24 Hours for Haiti 2012 is also working in coordination with the Hope for Haiti Foundation. In addition, Prichard has been working extensively with both efforts to develop and implement a new Motorcycle Medical Program. This innovative program will provide the equipment necessary to enable individuals to travel to less accessible regions and offer medical transportation to individuals in need of care. Funds raised during this year's ride will be used to set up and implement the Motorcycle Medical Program. This program would allow for pre and post natal care to women and babies in remote areas of Haiti, malaria treatment and prevention resources, and other emergency medical care that has been unavailable due to the cost of transportation and difficulty of the local terrain. Not only will the donations help save numerous lives, they will also help give Haiti the hand up they so greatly deserve.

24 Hours for Haiti 2012, will be held from noon to noon, June 1st & 2nd , 2012 with both the start and finish location being Ultimate Motorsports at 10612 Kingston Pike in Knoxville, TN. Upon completion of the event at noon on Saturday the 2nd, there will be a "Welcome Home" celebration at the dealership for the public to enjoy. There will be food, music and door prizes with donations accepted for the cause. For more information on the Hope for Haiti Foundation, please visit their website at: www.hopeforhaitifoundation.com.
